Question about Computers & Internet

My bizhub C235 does not want to start up properly.

When switched on my C235 does not respond correctly. The fan starts running and only the little green light on the main power is on and the light around the start button.

SOURCE: Power up problem

One thing u can do also. Open your system case, remove cmos battery clean cmos battery and then insert like same. And restart your system. Other wise check power connections voltage. If it is ok then definitely it will wirk.

SOURCE: pover up trouble

sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?

SOURCE: My Dell 9100 desktop won't start.

Hey mate... Now there could be a number of things wrong with your PC.. First thing is that on the back of the main tower there are 4 Lights that glow if the system is ok but in case of issues they glow in different patterns according to the potential problem... look out for those lights n refer em to this chart

Also in case of potential component failtures the system gives out beep codes in patterns (maybe the sounds u hear at startup)... Do a quick check

Now regardless we can perform a basic you seem to be tech savy enough so do one thing... remove all the chords from the system... then hold dowm the power button to discharge the flea power... now remove all the components one by one n reseat them immediately... this will reset the connections n then try n restart again... if the problem persists then post the 4 led code here n we'll go from there mate :-)

The fan turns on, blades don't move. The net says it is a bad motor capacitor. Mine has an LJY280A single capacitor switch. If I replace that, the fan should operate correctly, yes?

It probably is the capacitor but no guarantees as the insulation of the motor windings could have broken down or there might be another fault. Proper checking with an insulation tester is advisable.

If the capacitor is merely a start capacitor and not a start/run capacitor the motor should perhaps hum a little when switched on and then run normally if the fan blades are given a vigorous turn by hand.
There are several ways of arranging the motor circuit and some knowledge of these would be useful. You could have the capacitor tested by a local motor expert.

Capacitors bought as spare parts from appliance manufacturers tend to be very expensive. Capacitors are usually bought in by such manufacturers and replacements can be sourced much cheaper direct if the type and values and the maker's detail are present on the capacitor case, otherwise you will need the services of a motor specialist to determine the values for you if the information isn't available elsewhere.

1998 Chevy Prizm A/C and Cooling Fan Problems

Compressor could not work without cooling fan comming on.
Check compressor mounting bolts and belt placement on pulley regarding the noise.
But before we get to the a/c system repairs its important to have a properly working cooling system.

Is the car overheating ? It should if neither fan works.
If I recall correctly the fan switch is usually on the upper radiator hose coupling.
you may want to test the fan(s) its self. Remove the electical connectors fron the fan(s) , fabricate a set of jumper wires and run it from the battery. If this works the fan(s) are ok . If it doesn't replace the ones that don't work.
The coolant switch aka fan switch is usually tested with an ohmmeter . Use shop manual for testing procedure.
Test the a/c fan and engine cooling fan relays. (see shop manual for details)
Then I would start looking at coolant( correct mixture and thermostat2_bing.gif) although the thermostat is not likely to cause this.
If all of this still doesn't correct the problem it may be the ECU that monitors this system it may not be responding to the signal /voltage from coolant temp sensor to turn on the fan, (again nedd shop manual to test this)
Once you have a properly working cooling systemnow you can turn your focus on the a/c. Compressors either work or they don't.For you safety I recommend having the a/c system serviced by a ASE certified Technician or a tech's who legally can perform a/c service. Good luck

Hotpoint bottom oven

Cooking is determined by 3 things so let's look at what they are and what they do.

They are:

  1. The Fan Oven Element - This is very much the same as a light bulb only instead of giving off light it gives off heat. Like a light that is switched On or Off by a wall switch, the Element is switched On or Off by a Thermostat according to the temperature required. In short if the element fails your oven will be cold.
  2. The Fan & Motor - This sucks the air in through the centre mesh and circulates it around the Element and pushes the heated air out of the top, bottom and sides of the back-plate. Fan ovens cannot heat properly if the fan is not running OR if the fan runs too slowly as the motor starts to fail.
  3. The Thermostat. - This is basically an On/Off Switch that responds to the temperature in the oven. If The Fan is running correctly and you are achieving some temperature in the oven, then the fault will be with the Thermostat.
I hope this Helps - Terry
