If you are using Windows, you should check Volume set up in Control Panel - Audio and Sound Device
Move contoll for volume device and open Advanced properties and check setting of volume if it is at maximum

OptiPlex 780 has weak volume

Typically, PC sound chips, especially those integrated on the motherboard, are relatively low power-out devices. You can use headphones with them usually fairly well, but to really generate any sound quality and/or volume, you need a set of amplified speakers to accompany it. That said, if you are using the proper delivery equipment, and you know there are no issue with the speakers, low volume then does become an issue. You have few options if the sound chip on your motherboard is going south. You can buy another PC (not cost effective usually), or you can buy a replacement sound card to install in the device. You must be sure that you get one that works in your machine. Many Dell machines use low-profile cards so a full-height one may not work. Also, ensure that that if you get a PCI sound card that there is an available PCI slot for it. You may , in some cases, have a free PCIe x1 slot. They make sound cards that fit those as well. Once you get the new card, you will need to go to the setup menu (CMOS), and disable the onboard sound. After installing the new card, then load the drivers for it. Ensure you connect your front panel jacks cable to the sound card if the card supports it, otherwise you may lose the use of the front panel sound jacks. Lastly make sure to transfer the speaker connections from the motherboard jacks to the sound card jacks.

How do i fix my volume

Hi Ashlee, Is it the overall volume or is it an individual Application that has low volume?
The volume control in the menu bar shows the whole system volume but many apps have their own volume controls - and if they are set low then turning up the system volume will have no effect.

I have very low sound on my jvc gz-ms120au when playing back a recording

Hi,

I'm sorry to know that the videos are playing back with low volume. I'll be glad to assist you with this. Make sure that the Camcorder is used with a fully charged battery.
Increase the volume of the Camcorder using the Volume + - buttons and check if it increase or decrease. You can also try connecting the Camcorder to the Computer or to the TV and check if the transferred videos are playing with normal volume.
There are no settings to be done in the Camcorder to increase the recording volume level.
You can also backup the files, format the memory and capture a sample video recording and check if it helps.
This should resolve the issue.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

I have several mini discs containing old time music that I want to transfer to my computer, and finally come up MP3 CD's. I have a SONY MD WALKMAN MZ-E500 player. How do I go about transfering? What...

You will need just a mini-jack cable to connect the headphones output to the line in from the motherboard of your pc - put the volume at low, you will probably have to make several tries till you get the correct volume.
Then just use a recording program like Audacity

No headphone jack on samsung tv,so i got a ,y adapter and plugged in to rca jacks, but volume is low

Headphone output is usually dependent on the source's volume setting and are not a good way to transfer signal between devices. RCA is the way to go as it is independent of the volume control. Many TV's have a setting for the audio output to select variable or fixed (independent of the TV volume setting). Look for it.
