Gmail suggested I opened another sccount as someone else was trying to hack into my account. I changed my email address. But now I cannot access my email ihistory whioch means that I cannot


If you want to open a new account, be sure to move all the email in your current account to the new one before closing it. Also delete all or any private information you may have on your old account.

If making a new account does not satisfy you, add 2-step verification to the new account, which will link the account to a Google Authenticator or phone number, preventing unauthorized entry into your email. Google also tracks the user's IP address, and reports back if the account was accessed at a previously unknown location.

Hope this helps: That is an indicator field which displays the account associated with the particular SMTP server within the list. This can be changed from selecting the SMTP Server from: Mail >>Preferences >>Accounts >>Account Information, then select from the pull-down menu for "Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP):" Make sure you save it.

As for the sending issue I would need more info. Similar to your Incoming Mail Server, does your SMTP server require authentication? Connection Doctor will show a green light for your SMTP if you have the SMTP Advanced Settings >> Authentication: set to none, BUT the mail server won't send the mail until the request passes the authentication process (changing the authentication settings to Password or the appropriate method will correct this).

However, with the information provided I can't pinpoint the problem. (What does Connection Doctor say after the green light? Do you use SSL?)

Go to email account settings (Tools > Account Settings > More Settings), and check the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" option.

I can recieve email but I cant send any email out


If you can successfully receive e?mail messages, but can't send messages, then Windows Mail is having problems connecting to the outgoing e?mail server that's used to send messages. These are likely possibilities:
  • If you've never been able to send e?mail successfully using Windows Mail, your e?mail account is probably not set up properly. First, follow the steps to verify your e?mail account information in the "I can't receive e?mail" section of this help topic. If you verify that your e?mail account information is entered properly, you might need to change your authentication settings so that when sending mail, you sign in using your e?mail user name and password. Check with your e?mail provider to see if it requires authentication for sending e?mail.
    To use authentication when sending e?mail
    1. Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Mail.
    2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Accounts.
    3. Under Mail, click your e?mail account, and then click Properties.
    4. Click the Servers tab, and then, under Outgoing Mail Server, select the My server requires authentication check box.
    5. If the account information that you use to send e?mail is not the same information that you use to receive messages, click Settings, click Log on using, and then enter the user name and password that you use to send e?mail.

If your ISP doesn't allow this, you'll need to find out the name of the outgoing mail server for the ISP you're currently using, and then change the settings in Windows Mail to use it.
    To change the outgoing mail server settings

Please check do you have authentication enabled for your account.
Follow steps in here (just type in your email/password and yahoo mail servers). The vital point is setting "My server requires authentication".
