This Model Craftsman does not have a choke or engine speed lever. Behavior does not change when engine is warm. The waters sprays for a couple of seconds before engine quits

Symptom is of an engine either being overloaded or starved for gas under load. The fact that you get pressure generally means the water pump is not likely to be seized. If it was mine, I would put carburetor cleaner in the gas tank, run it for 5-10 minutes, then put in some Marvel Mystery Oil (crazy name but great top cylinder lubricant) and run it for another 5-10 minutes and see if the problem clears up. There probably is a speed linkage with a governor to keep constant engine speed and that could be manipulated too if you knew where it was during this cleaning process. Check the fuel filter too while you are at it. Consult the owners manual for more troubleshooting steps.

Does this behavior change if the engine is warm and on minimum choke? Do you get any water spray before the engine quits? Carburetor could be dirty or float stuck. Try putting dose of carburetor cleaner through engine and cycle choke lever and engine speed lever back and forth while engine is running after it has warmed up without running water spray. See owners manual.

Pull rope on troybuilt pw wont pull out or pulls hard when trying to start it, i pulled plug and it pulls fine, put it back in and it pulls hard again if at all, can you help me out?

On some pressure washers the engine will be hard to pull start if there is pressure in the hose. Release the pressure in the hose by squeezing the wand trigger, then try starting the engine. Also If you had it running and then stopped it, you need to release the hose pressure again to have an easy time of pull starting it. This is what I have to do with mine once the pump is primed and before starting it up. I hope it's as simple as this. If not it could be an engine problem of some sort.

Hope this helps. :)

Engine is running faster than normal & causing spray to come the wand without pulling trigger?

Trigger for wand needs replacing, water bypassing it and not allowing pressure build up enough to close pressure switch, allowing engine to go back in idle

Simpson 2700 won't start with pull cord after running for a while?

Release the high pressure in the hose by triggering the wand as you try to restart the engine.

I have a Honda XR2600 pressure washer. When the wand trigger is pulled, the throttle does not open, the RMD just drops. If i manually open the throttle, it works fine.

Your engine produces max horsepower at 3600 rpm. The engine throttle should be set to max before you pull trigger. Pressure washes generally do not have automatic throttle. You do not have to use max power, but enough power to keep the engine running when trigger is pulled. You washer will actually last longer if you only use about 75% of rated capacity. Good luck

New Troy-Bilt 3000 psi - Very Hard to Hot Start

When you run the unit and shut if off, release the pressure from the spray wand before trying to restart the engine. This built up pressure will cause it to be very hard to start as you have found out. If it does not start on the second pull release the pressure again. Another option is do do what I did on mine. I simply put a pull tie on the handle so I can pull the trigger back and use the pull tie to hold the trigger open. Make sure if you do this, that you remove the high pressure orifice from the end of the wand before attempting to start the engine. Otherwise the pressure will come on abruptly and could injure you or do property damage.

Gas engine will not start without pulling trigger on wand to relieve pressure-engine dies when letting off trigger

I am afraid that is how they work even electric ones wont start unless you squeeze the trigger ,once they are running you should be ablr to release the trigger , and then squeeze it again whilst running . if yours dies when you release the trgger while motor is running -----good chance you are working at too high pressure. but to start you have to release all the internal pressure

Ex-Cell VR2500 Builds Pressure but Won't Spray

I have a similar problem and diagnosed it to be a problem with the gun. I spoke to a technician that services this pressure washer and he walked me through all the diagnostic steps. The pump is working because there is pressure being built up and the gun sort of works because you can get water out before the washer is started. The technician said that the mechanism inside the gun is either clogged or broken. I am going to Home Depot or Lowes to purchase a new gun and will try it tonight. Guns are only about $30-40. He said generic is fine as long as the thread matches and PSI is in range. Good luck!

Pressure washer stalls out when wand nozzle is released

common for not starting unless trigger engaged as you are turning the pump as well as engine creating pressure,as for stalling pump has unloader valve which is probably in need of grease(use good silicone grease)this allows water to ciculate when trigger released.
