SOURCE: can a 1000 watt amp run 800 rms subs and best wiring option

yeah it will run them but you won't get your full power because the rms for your subs is high. try bridging them with some 8 gauge wire, and of you got a crossover it will help you out alot

SOURCE: Rockford fosgate 800 a2 amp power?

Hello desperate2le,

Watts delivered is a function of the voltage times the current. If the amp was 100 percent efficient, it would need 33 amps at 12V for 400 watts. At 14.4V, it would only need 28 amps. Of course, amplifiers are NOT 100 percent efficient, only about 50-60 percent in many cases, but somewhat higher for monoblocks, maybe 80-90 percent. So you're looking at a fuse in the 60-80A range. In the absense of a specific fuse size from the manufacturer, I'd start the primary fuse at a 60A and if the amp blows it on power up/immediately/frequently, move up to an 80A.

All of the Rockford-Fosgate 2-channel bridgeables I've ever seen show using the left positive (+) and the right negative (-) for bridging. But if it's not shown right on the amp, I'd call or email RF for the correct connection. The new amps do show it.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: wireing diagrams

Hello stingerman20,

Your Directed D2400 amp is CEA2006 Compliant. It is stable at 1ohm and will produce 1,200 watts into that load. So you want your subs wired as close to 1 ohm as possible.

The only 3500 watt Pioneer Premier series subs I could find were the models number TS-W3002D2 and TS-W3002D4 with dual 2ohm and dual 4ohm voice coils respectively. The wiring options for the D2's result in 0.5ohm (too low), 2 ohms, and 8ohms. Your best option would be the 2ohm configuration which would be voice coils in series and subs in parallel. Options for the D4's result in a 1ohm load and a 4ohm load. Your best option would be the 1ohm configuration which would be voice coils and subs parallel.

To see the wiring options, try Rockford-Fosgate's "wiring wizard".
Select 2 woofers and the appropriate voice coil impedance and quantity and click "search". It'll bring up all of the possible wiring configurations along with the final impedance load.

Hope this helps.

Can I replace the speakers on this system? Speakers are too large for space & want to replace with another brand.

make sure impedance is the same so 6 ohms and the power rating of speakers is no less than 200 watts peak rms.And bare wire ports on back of speaker.
The power rating is so the speakers can handle the maximum power delivered by stereo amplifier without burning out speakers coils.

Have you installed Kicker capacitors? With the extra power you have you will need them to help with the load.

I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO WIRE THREE 3012 THWELVES TO A 1800 WATT KENWOOD AMP

Its hard to tell what you can or cant do without knowing exactly which kenwood amp you are using. Generally speaking though most kenwood amps are stable only down to 2 ohms. you will be better off just using 2 of your 12s wired in parallel- that will give you a 2 ohm load. There is a way to use all 3 simply by wiring them in series, it will end up giving you a 12 ohm load on the amp though which will work fine but you wont ever achieve the full power that the amp can do.

Can i hook up a powered 12'sub to a Pheonix Gold xs2500 amp without blowing the speaker

First I hope you remove the speaker wires from the speaker that come from the built in amplifire. You cannot hook the powered sub to the amp without doing that first. Then all you need to do is run speaker wire from the sub out of the box to the amp. In no way can you hook up any other part of the powered sub, but the sub itself, to the amp. If you know the wattage of the sub and the ohms then wire it to the amp correctly. Your phoenix amp will put out 125 watts x 2 at 4 ohms and 250 watts x 2 at 2 ohms and 500 watts x 1 at 4 ohms bridged. Remember, only the sub itself in the sub enclosure can be connected to the amp. Hope this helped you. Let me know if you need more help.

Wiring diagram

Hello rivertoyz,

If your F250 has the stock radio, there are no preamp outputs, so you will need to use the speaker outputs. The best solution would be to wire a LOC (line output converter) to the rear channels and run RCA cables to the amp.

Speaker wire color code:

Left rear positive - Gray/Light Blue
Left rear negative - Tan/Yellow
Right rear positive - Orange/Red
Right rear negative - Brown/Pink

You'll need an amp wiring kit with 4gauge power and ground. Both the LOC and wiring kits are available at numerous online stores. The best service is from www.crutchfield.com. Another reputable online seller is www.sonicelectronix.com.

You did not say what subwoofer(s) you intend to use with the amp. If you want to stick with the Maxxsonics product, a pair of 10" Orion HP10D2's would be an excellent match. Wire each of the subs dual voice coils in series for 4ohms, then parallel them to the amp for a final load of 2ohms. Both of the linked retailers above sell the Orion's and many other brands as well. Just make sure that your sub selection has adequate power handling capability. At least 1000 watts RMS if you use a single sub and 500 watts RMS if you go with 2.

Hope this helps.

How to wire my kicker solar baric

All depends on your amp. Is it 1 ohm stable or not?
Parralell:
positive (pos) on voice coil 1 (vc1) to Pos on vc2 and negative (neg) on vc1 to neg on vc2. Then speaker wire from amp to one vc only = 1ohm load.
Series:
Pos from amp to Pos on vc1. Neg of vc1 to Pos of vc2. Neg of vc2 to amp = 4 ohm load.

Speakers have crackling sound

usually, crackling is due to 3 things:

1) the soundcard (or sound device you have them plugged into)
The best way to test this is to plug in another set of speakers or a headset directly to the sound
device, and listen. if you don;t hear the crackling, than consider that idea scrapped.

2.) speaker wiring/cables. Check the wiring for cracks/frayed spots. Do you get any crackling during/after you move the wires? if there is ANY change, for the better or the worse, than you have your culprit.

3.) the speakers themselves. when the first two options above are exhausted, there's only the insides of the speakers themselves to blame. you might not have seen any cone deterioration- but other things could happen, such as deteriorating wiring, etc.

for new speakers, they are relatively cheap- Here in Canada at least, I can get a new 2.1 set for anywhere from $25-60. Although, I'd strongly recommend any of the Logitech brand speakers- most models have subwoofers with unbelievable bass (for the price) through them. I myself have the more expensive Z-5500 series from them (5.1), and I've been more than impressed.

I bought a 2400 watt punch 801s amp that has two power out and two ground outs i've hooked up only one power and one ground and the amp comes on but as soon as i touch the speacker wire to it it hits one...

Check the gauge on the wiring. For that size amp you would need to use 0 AWG wire for the power, the speaker wire is just signal wire so you want to use regular speaker wire. (I have 12 AWG setup for speaker wires) What the two power ports (Neg and Pos) do is increase the amount of flow. Two power wires to distribute the flow of the current so you don't burn up your wires if your pumping too much juice. I started off with this exact amp running a single 8 AWG and split it into two and it burned up and blew a fuse after a couple of huge bass hits. So proper setup would be....
BAT(+)---FUSE HOLDER(60AMP+)---DISTRIBUTION BOX(30AMP+)====AMP
GND(-)===AMP
-- would be 1 wire pref 0 AWG splitting into more 0-4 AWG
== would be the 2 wires (Yes two ground points in separate locations would be better)
Thus finalizing you have a proper setup.
Be careful you don't burn out your alternator, this bad boy can cause some serious problems with a lower amp alternator. Let me know how it works out.

Pioneer DEH-P2600

blue and white wire on a pioneer is usually the power antenna wire, most people use it as the lead for power to turn on the amp that is installed, the amp should be hooked up to the RCA jacks on the back of the player to the input RCA jacks on the amp. then the outputs vary, some amps are bridgable which means that you can hook up one speaker to both output speakers this will almost double the watts to the speakers. you must know which side would be positive and which side negative to set it up like this. also important is it a two or four channel amp. this all matters. if you can provide more info I can assure you the best hookup possible for premium sound.
