Is the kettle lid fully down? If not then the sensor won't get hot enough to activate the power cut off sequence. If all this is OK then consider junking the kettle for a new one. Obviously, if you are attached to kettle then take it to a reputable repairer. If the kettle is a fairly cheap one he should suggest replacing it.

The switch does not automatically turn off when the water boils. If left alone all the water will boil out.

The switch has to turn off when the water boils as the heat generated must cut off the switch. If this wont work the bimetal is not working and the switch is not responding.
You will need to replace the switch. Please contact the dealership for the spare.

Over heating

hi the first thing to check would be the thermostat, if you remove the thermostat and have a look at it then boil some water then put it in the boiling water then wait 30sec take it out with something so you wont burn yourself then check if it has opened to allow water to pass through, if not replace.

the other thing to check would be to see if the rad fan cuts in when the temp gets hot if not then the rad switch may need replacing.

check thermostat first as this is the most likely cause of your problem.

other problems could be as bad as head gasket but this would be last resort to check head gasket you need to do compression test or have a sniff test done.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

The power switch light on my kettle comes on but it wont boil

1. Check the continuity on the power switch
2. Check to see if any thermal cut-out is open circuit
3. Check to see if the element has gone open circuit.

Any open circuit indicates the part will require replacing. Given the cost of the kettle, if the element has gone open circuit it may be worth considering replacing the kettle itself.

I have a gilera runner 50 sp and it wont start

Has it been laid up for months? Did you leave any gas in it untreated? You may need to boil out the gas tank . Try a carb cleaner first that you add to the gas.Check the plugs. Are they black/oily (too rich / worn ring), Tan ( correct ).they tell a lot about the condition of the engine. Good Luck

Do i have a vapor lock

Remove the gas cap when it does this. If you hear a woosh sound the tank vent isn't working properly. Essentially your tank has turned into a vacuum.
