Sounds like the deck is frozen up.

Lift won't raise

The lift lever is connected by bars and or chains. It is possible that the chain has come of or that a bolt at a lever pivot point has broke, Look at the top of the mower deck and have someone move the raise control lever up and down. You should see the problem.

Larry,

I have a Troy built x20 lawn tractor and the lift cylinder moves until the weight of the blade is on it and then it stops. Sounds like we have the same problem. Any luck with yours? ANy answers out there. Again, the cylinder will move raise and lower until the weight of the blade is applied. The left to right cylinder will move but very slowly. Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated.

Lawnmower wont move in fwd or reverse

Is the brake sticking. On my craftsman mower there is a bar under the brake pedal that pushes back a lever when starting. And the lever sticks. I have to reach underneath and pull the lever forward and then the mower goes. I haven't found a solution to that yet.

The blade engage lever on my 42" craftsman mower will not disengage completely

Get a can of penatating oil and spray the pivot point of the idler arm on the deck. That's the one that moves back and forth when you lift the blade engagement lever.
