1. Figure out the make and model of cell phone you have.
2. Look for your user manual.
3. Read the user manual.

If you don't have a user manual;

4. Refer to step 1.
5. Do a web search for your make and model user manual online.
6. See step 3.

Simple tips to Disable iPhone 3G GPRS or Edge Connection

each time an Internet service is loaded, data will likely be transferred automatically through GPRS whether you like it or not. Therefore, I have found a trick to disable the access to GPRS network on my iPhone having recently 5 simple steps.
  • Setting icon
  • General
  • Network
  • Cellular Data Network
  • APN, Username and Password field
merely type in many words so iPhone do not pass the correct values to service providers (Digi, Maxis or Celcom). we'll receive a message that says "Unable to Connect to the GPRS Network" whenever you accidentally tap on online tool icons.

My battery is dead in a 8-10 hours with this Motorola W376G. I think it is due to the GPRS and want to know how/if I can disable it?

GPRS is through your provider, texting and calling a lot will cause it to die faster. when your phone transmits out it uses more battery than recieving
