E02 is a code telling you to complete the previous transaction. So turn your key back to R and press TOTAL/TEND button and proceed.

I have a sharp er- a242 and a e34 will not clear itself from my register?! How do i fix this?!

E34 is an overflow error. It may be that the price you're entering is higher than the maximum allowed for that department. The default program is $10,000.00, I think, but can be programed as low as a penny.
Or maybe you entered a price with a decimal point in it? $2.95 is entered by just touching the numbers 295. (Sorry if I'm insulting your intelligence. Just trying to cover all the bases here.) Clear it with the CL key and try it again.
Maybe the register's Journal has overflowed. The ER-A242 stores 2000 lines of activity, but they should be printed out sometime. Turn it to X1/Z1 and touch:
700 . @/FOR CA/AT/NS
It's going to print a bunch of stuff - be sure you have enough paper loaded for it. If you have to pause, turn to the MGR mode. Page 60 of your manual has the details.
Maybe you've finished a sale - almost - by tendering part of what is owed on it. Touch CL to clear the error, then #/TM/SBTL to show exactly what is owed on the sale. Enter exactly that amount and touch CA/AT/NS.
I hope one of these ideas works - I have decades of experience on Sharp registers, but almost none on the ER-A242, so I could be completely wrong here. But none of these solutions will damage anything, so try them and let me know which, if any, help.

How to get grand total of the month on sharp cash register ER-2385

I can't believe we still have a book for this one - the ER2385 began production in 1987!
Most business owners take their totals daily. You probably have, too, by turning the key to Z1 and touching
. CA/AT (I hope you can the decimal point in front of the CA/AT. It's essential.)
To take monthly totals, do exactly the same thing, but in the X2/Z2 position.
Note that these totals are monthly only because you print them monthly. If you do it every Saturday night, you'll get weekly totals. The register prints totals that have accumulated since the last time you took a Z2 reading. It's up to you to make them monthly by taking them monthly.
So, on January 31 take your usual nightly total, then the Z2 total. Taking the daily one first ensures that today is included in the month.
Skipping the decimal point before the CA/AT will give you an X2 total. The same numbers will be printed, but they won't be cleared back to zero. That's fine if you want to see your totals so far, without messing them up, but if you forget it at the end of January, then February's totals will include both months. The same rule applies to daily totals. Use the decimal point if you want the numbers cleared.
While the CA/AT key gives the familiar department totals, other readings are available.
PLU gives your PLU totals, if you use them. (X1 and Z1 only)
#/TM gives totals for each hour of the day (X1 and Z1 only)
SBTL gives a total for each day of the month (X2/Z2 only)

How do i get manager reading on my er a330

I think you mean your end-of-day money totals:
Turn the key to X1/Z1
Touch the decimal point, then the CA/AT/NS (CAsh, Amount Tendered, No Sale) button - or maybe it's just CA/AT on the -A330.
It will print out a Z reading: the day's sales totals and clear them back to zero, except the Grand Totals at the top of the tape.
If you skip the decimal point it will print an X reading: the same tape, but will not clear the totals, so they can continue building. You can print an X tape several times a day if you're curious about sales, so far, without messing up anything.
I talk about Z totals as a daily total, but they accumulate for as long as you let them, before taking a Z reading. It is only a daily report as long as you take it daily, as most business owners do.

We are using a Sharp XE-202 cash register. Is it set up to give you the total tax collected each day?

Yes. As long as the tax has been set to your product buttons, you should see tax totals on the standard report in X1/Z1 mode

from (SRV¢) position.
· MRS-2
