Replaced wire harness and foot pedal.. The ride on will not move at all, doesn't even engage the gears at all.. could BOTH of the gears be bad at the same time?

2001 mercury Cougar is in park; tried several times to move it out of gear and no luck. Tranny fluid full. A few months ago had tranny fluid pan gasket replaced. Has been driving fine up til today.

If it's stuck in park , problem with gear interlock system ! This is a safety system that will not allow gear shifter to be move with out foot pressing on the brake pedal . Do the brake light's work ? Could be a bad switch or wiring problem or shift interlock solenoid or maybe even a control module !

How do i unlock brake tried resetting arms stalls when engaging handles also wont come out of gear when releasing bypass valve

you most likely have a module behind your battery... it's either bad or corrosion has taken it's toll and you will also need a wire harness ... and yes, when those go bad, you can't even move those things...

Reverse and low gear not working. just got done replacing gear selector and wiring harness( upgraded kit ) to fix this and still having same problem. could it be the foot feed switch is going bad?

if the foot pedal wasn't working you wouldn't get any power at all, i had this same problem with a peg perego john deere tractor and it ended up that one of the motors was bad. I would disconnect one fo the motors and then try all of the gears and then try the same with the other motor and see if that works, you'll have to pull the rear wheels off to access the motors

It only goes 3.5 miles per hour when you change the pedal to high it does the same speed as low. screwed around with it but it just has one slow speed.

probably a bad foot pedal, the switch tha engages the high speed is actually a button on the back of the foot pedal that gets engaged when its pushed all of the way in

I just got the bike and it seems to me that there is no 5th gear. I can ride 75-80 mph no problem, but I don't think I am engaging a 5th gear. Any advise?

When you are in top gear driving a Honda, you can lift up the shifter pedal with your foot with out pulling in the clutch. The pedal is actually not engaging or doing any thing and will give no resistance. If you are not sure if you are an in top gear You just lift up on the pedal with out engaging the clutch If it moves up freely you know you are in top gear. If you are driving and apply light upward pressure on the pedal and there is resistance , you have another gear to go.

1995 volkswagon passat starts while in gear.

Since you have already tried the obvious look to make sure that the new switch is properly engaging when you move the pedal. Most of these switches have some adjustment in their placement. Otherwise search through the wire harness and tape up ANY cracks or breaks in the plastic coating. Also look at all the connectors for green corrosion. If you find or suspect corrosion replace the connector. VW''s are picky when it comes to corrosion and breaks in wire insulation. Hope this helps.

Craftsman yard tractor runs but take foot off brake it dies.....

Check the under seat switch. The switch sometimes fails and this cuts the ignition except when the foot brake is down. You can use jumpers across the switch wires to test it.

Will not go into gear

a hydro uses a foot pedal on the right side , you push forward to go forward or rock the pedal rearward to go in reverse - a regular transmission has a shifter usually between your legs for reverse 1st 2nd or 3rd gear - you also said the blades wont engage . are they electric ( with a switch ) or do you manually move a lever .
