Hi, The hole that was cut for the tweeter is holding the magnet. It was tight going in. And hard to get out. Take a flat screwdriver and pry up one of the edges a little. Then go to opposite side and pry up a little bit. You may need to put something in the gap of the first side you pry up so it doesn't go back in. Once you have both sides up a little bit. You should be able to grab ahold of it with your fingers and remove it. May have to move it back and forth .

Have a pair of cerwin vega 6x9 coaxial speakers 75 rmsX2 4ohms. I'm able to remove the tweet from them would they now be a svc mid bass

Not sure why you would want to remove the tweeters, but if you did, then the overall impedance of the speakers would be altered. It may be higher or lower depending on the crossover network and wiring configuration. If you still have your heart set on removing the tweeters, the simplest method would be to replace the removed speaker with a resistor of the same ohms value and of an adequate power rating. This will introduce a slight bit of distortion but it will safe guard your amplifier. Cheers

I have alpine sps600c & am installing them in a 2001 Nissan frontier w/ 6 disc 6 speaker (2 ea in each ront door, 2 in back (crew cab). Do I wire my tweeters to existing tweeter output, or...

Did you change out the factory deck? If not, wire the tweets to the existing wiring. If you already have tweets they have been crossedover already. However, if you replaced the deck, you may need to run new wire to the doors and use the crossover that came with your component set. Hope this helps

How to setup an eltax surround system? what exact place do I put them (also behind me)? It contains 4 speakers, 1 sub-w, and 1"tweeter/high range" to put on your tv. I thank You sincerely!

Well, that is pretty dependent on the room size and seating position. Ideally the center channel should be directly under the TV. This is where 90% of the dialog will come from. The two tall speakers should then be placed adjacent to the TV, preferably a couple of feet away. The smaller surround sound speakers should be approximately ear level, to slightly above and behind the viewer. The surround speakers are bipolar, so they will radiate sound out of each side, therefore you do not need to "angle' them towards the listener. The sub woofer doesn't really matter, the bass frequencies are non-directional. I like to hide it under a table or something like that.
Some new receivers have built in surround set up programs that will send a test signal to each speaker and "listen" then adjust the delay and volume accordingly. Without that it will take some trial and error to get any system dialed into the perfect settings. Then what may be ideal for one specific location will sometimes not sound as good from another in the same room.
Good Luck.

Hello there i have a mackie srm 450 speaker system and im not getting any high end tweeter sounds just bass only what coule be the problem manay thanks Paulie

The most common cause of this is a blown horn. A replacement can be ordered from Mackie directly. Remove the screws that hold the plastic horn in place. At the rear of this part will be the tweeter assembly that unscrews from the horn. This needs to be replaced.

Another possibility is that the tweeter driver has broken from the horn itself and is inside the cabinet. Remove the horn and you may find that the aluminum part has broken. Replace the horn which comes with that part and you should be fine.

No sound from top speaker

Yes Eltax will sell you a replacement part. THey also sell the woofer/driver as well. Changing either is simple. You will need a Torx screwdriver to unattatch the driver from the box. Then just pull it out, and attatch the connectors to the new tweeter. Make sure you get the wiring right for polarity. Ie look at the writing on the back of the tweeter and keep the wires going to the same connections on the new one. Screw it back in...and you are done. I have a pair of these as well, and have just done the same replacing both woofers that had been pushed in my my niece and her inquisitive hands !

Eltax millenium 500 speaker problem

Some high end speakers have a fuse to protect the tweeter (treble). Reverse the speakers. Does the problem follow the suspected speaker? If so, the defect is most likely on the crossover inside the speaker.

What do you mean by best place to locate parts?

Need to replace 11L tweeter

the best solution I've found is this:
1. Remove all the tweeter screws.
2. Take a thing metal rod (a coat hanger should work) and lightly tap the tweeter through the top port in the rear until it is loosened and comes out. The tweeter is totally sealed so you probably won't damage it if you need to do this to a working tweeter.

This method also works for the woofer but you need to be very careful to tap the frame or magnet of the woofer and not the cone.

Removing Driver from Sealed Cab

1. Remove the front cover.
2. Remove the four bushes that held it in place. Beneath them are crosshead screws.
3. Remove these screws, and the surround board they hold.
4. You can now see the bass speaker retaining screws. remove them and withdraw the speaker *carefully*. (A knife under the edge helps to get it going.) The wires are at the back mixed up with the damping wool.
5. The tweeter has its retaining screws under the rubber gasket stuck to it.
6. The connectors shoud slide off the lugs, but mine are pretty stiff. Careful with the tweeter's: mine pulled out the termnal completely, and I've had to replace the unit!
