Replace them... the rubber boots protect the upper joint of the strut, corrosion of this joint will lead to excessive wear causing alignment issues. Depending on your mileage and the type of roads you drive on, it may well be time to replace the entire strut.

My 2008 Honda fit has a noise when turn to right , sounds like it's around the right passengers tire front and then at same time steering wheel will stick for second, but doesn't happen all the time

If it's a clicking noise, probably CV joint. Check for a torn rubber boot on the joint and look for blobs of grease inside your wheel (a good indicator the boot is torn).

1998 dodge durango loud thumping noise front passenger tire looks crooked

A suspension part has come loose or is worn out. Check the top strut mounts under the hood. There may be a rubber plug to remove to see the top mounting plate. The three nuts around the perimeter of the strut plate are the mounting nuts, not the larger center nut-leave that one alone-it is for keeping the strut from coming apart.
If that mount is good, check for a broken coil spring around the strut.
Keep looking for the problem. If the tire leans out that bad, you should be able to spot the problem. Raise the wheel off the ground (recommend jack stands or blocks so it won't slip off the jack), grasp the wheel and shake it back and forth while watching for looseness or noise on the suspension parts connecting to the wheel hub at top and bottom- the upper and lower control arms and the strut connection.
Good luck.

Knocking noise when cornering

If you can figure out what side it is coming from, it is probably the velocity joint in the half shaft (drive shaft) going to the wheel. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.

I own a Toyota Camry LE 2006 . Recently I took it for a 36 point inspection. The inspector told me that I needed to do some fixtures on the vehice. However, I do not understand the meaning s. Can you...

What engine size? how many miles on the vehicle?

1: Leaking Water pump - How do I notice this in the car ?

Typically you will see a lot of dried up coolant around the water pump. If the coolant level gets low enough it will cause the vehicle to over heat and potentially do a lot of damage.

Water pumps are extremely common on these years.

2. Under Steering components it says Rack is Leaking, Passenger bellow torn open.

The rack is the part that turns the wheels left and right. If a bellow is torn and there is fluid coming out of it than the seals in the rack have gone bad. Eventually enough fluid will leak out and cause the power steering to no longer work and possibly ruin the power steering pump.

3. LF Strut /stunt is seeping.

It means that the oil on the strut is starting to leak out. The strut is what absorbs the bumps in the road and holds your tires down on the road. Eventually the strut will loose its ability to do this and the tires will start to cup. It is not uncommon for struts to show signs of leaking and is usually the first indicator that the strut is starting to fail.

Hope that helped.

When I turn there is a grating sound, both left and right turns--doesn't happen at low low speeds or on very easy turns. 2003 honda civic

It sounds like the CV joints need some attention. These are covered with rubber boots and if the boots crack they let in water and/or dirt which cause the joints to make a popping or grinding sound. Turn the wheels left or right and look under the car towards the inside of the wheels. The boots are right next to the back of the wheels. Look for cracks in the rubber. If you can, push on the boots and check for small cracks. If they are cracked, have them looked at immediately. The longer they go like that the more damage will be caused. Thanks for using fixya.

Sturt and Mounts

As far as driving without having a front end alignment done AFTER the strut replacement, you should head to a shop and have a front end alignment done. You MAY notice some vibrating or tire wear if not taken care of.

Looking at your struts online, the boot comes with the struts. All you have to do is drop yours and replace with the new!

I have a 2001 grand am that makes a rubbing or grinding noise from the front end. I have some vibrations in the sterring wheel as well. this is not noticable until the car is above 30mph.

Your front struts may be bad,There is a rubber seat at the top of the strut that can start to bind while driving and turning. Replace struts and realign front end.
