Hi Yvonne
"FreeView"
You must be in Australia. Like me.
I would assume that you have pulled the power out & reset the unit. I don't have the freeview box but they can be similar to other set top boxes.
Does the user manual indicate that holding down certain buttons on startup will cause a reset?
Some of these units have an internal backup battery to keep your parameters in memory. Often not user accessible.
But in emergency, the battery (if you find it) can be given a quick short with a jumper wire to reset it.
Otherwise You might need a tech to look at it or swap it out
Good Luck

SOURCE: Techwood 32'' LCD, screen is black, no sound.

the light you see is the backlight, you have either a bad signal board or tcon board which is part of the screen usually.
only cheap solution may be if the capacitors on the power supply, if you want you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swollen on top and are easy to solder in cost about $1
try reseating the thick cable running to the panel (Tcon board) top center inside the set

I have a 168822 cant get any freeview channels is it my ariel ?
I have used and recieved freeview at my old address ?

SOURCE: Although the Freeview box is correctly installed

Ok, if you have "No Signal" that can only mean you must be selecting the wrong INPUT, when it is hooked up yo the TV, essentially the TV, is just a Display Monitor, and it doesn't use "Channels" anymore, it uses the AV, or EXTERNAL Inputs, any channel changing is done on the Freeview box. Make sure you are connected color to color, cables are connected. The antenna, goes into the freeview, the AV cables go to TV, taking the Video 7 Audio, from the Freeview box, to the "Screen" TV, set to the External input, that the "Box" has been connected too. Check your manual out.

I cant make the freeview box work without the operating instructions

OK - please follow these instructions carefully to setup the Freeview box. If you get stuck at any point in the instructions - or anything I've said doesn't make sense or match what you can see - just post another message here and I'll deal with each problem as it arises.

1. Switch the TV and Freeview box to STANDBY. There should be a red light on the Freeview box;
2. Connect the aerial cable to the freeview box. Make sure you are connecting this to the correct socket. This should be labelled "RF IN", "IN" or "Aerial/Antenna". If you have connected to a socket marked "RF/TV OUT" or "TO TV" or something similar, it wont work;
3. Connect the SCART cable to Freeview box and the back of the TV;
4. Switch the TV on;
5. Switch the Freeview box on - you should get a green light on the front of the box;

Most TVs will automatically switch to the external input when a SCART device is switched on while the TV is already on. This is why you should switch the TV on first.

At this point you should be able to see the installation / setup screen for the Freeview box displayed on your TV. If you cannot see this:

A. Press the INPUT button once on your SAMSUNG remote control once. This is the button in the top-right corner of your remote control.
B. If you still cannot see the installation / setup screen, press the MENU or SETUP button on the remote control supplied with the Freeview box.

The instructions from this point forward will be different if you had to press the MENU / SETUP button on the Freeview remote before anything appeared on the TV screen. If this Freeview box has been used before the installation screen will not appear, but you will get at on-screen menu after pressing the MENU / SETUP button. If this happens, please let me know and I will provide alternative instructions for setup.

Assuming you have been able to access the installation screen, it should be easy enough to follow the instructions on screen from this point. Use the UP / DOWN / LEFT / RIGHT arrow keys on the Freeview remote to highlight the relevant options and then press OK / SELECT to choose that option.

I don't want to make this too complicated by providing alternative instructions for every possible scenario. Please run through the instructions above and make sure you are getting an installation screen or "menu/list" displayed on the TV. If you need further instructions from there, I will provide them in another message.

Good luck - I'll await your reply.

Regards,
BElectric

No instruction to set up the freeview box digihome dvb 915 can you help

Set up should be quite straightforward assuming you have all the bits.
You will need
  1. a standard co-axial aerial lead from your TV antenna to the female socket on the Freeview Box
  2. A scart to scart lead to connect the Freeview box (tv out socket) to the television.
If you wish to connect a video recorder or other equipment you may also need a second coaxial lead (male to female) for the RF through socket to connect to the aerial in socket on the video recorder.
If your TV does not have a scart socket you can connect the scart lead to the scart socket on a video recorder and then use the normal method of watching videos to view the Freeview TV pictures (here you may need to press the PAUSE button on your video recorder to prevent it going back into standby-mode after a few minutes).
Simply connect the box to your TV, turn on the power and the auto channel-scan will immediately detect and install all available channels.
If the Freeview box has been previously used in a different location / with a different TV transmitter you may need to re-tune it. Press the menu button on the remote control, scroll through the menu to set-up. Follow on screen prompts.
