Dryer drum turns, heats, but then heat shuts off before timer has finished.

The heat is supposed to turn off ten to fifteen minutes before the end of the cycle. It's a cool down period.

Ge profile oven lock button won't go off

  • 1.Press the "Clear/Off" button on the control panel to reset the oven. This will clear the lock setting and unlock the door.

2.Allow the oven to cool to room temperature to avoid turning the lock on again during this heating cycle.

3.Reset the oven to the temperature you require to finish cooking by pressing the correct temperature control on the control pad.

  • 1.If your GE Profile microwave won't turn on, unplug it, then plug it back in. A power outage may have occurred due to a power surge. Check your home's fuses and circuit breakers.

2.Set the clock of your GE Profile microwave. Certain models will not operate until you set the clock. Select the "Clock" key and type in the correct time.

  • 3.Hold down your microwave's "Off" button. You may have accidentally hit the control-lock feature on your GE Profile microwave. Hold down the "Off" button for three seconds to turn the lock off.

  • 4.If the sensors of your GE Profile microwave are not working correctly, remove the food from the machine. If the sensors detect food-surface temperatures over 200 degrees Fahrenheit, it will not work properly until the area cools down.

  • 5.Contact GE Support if you are unable to resolve the issue on your own. Call the GE Support hotline or browse the help library on the GE website. You can also schedule a service visit on GE's website.

Hi. My mother had a flood in her basement recently and although her 5 year old ge Profile gas dryer was set up on blocks off of the floor the bottom section got wet and it had stopped working. The...

you need to inspect the ignitor/glow coil that ignites the gas in the burner tube as they are very fragile, then on the burner tube body check the radint sensor eye it can be dirty, clean it first or then replace it,the gas valve boost and secondary coils on the gas valve could have been damaged and they keep the gas valve open to supply gas to the burner, then also check the thermal fuse on the vent blower housing as water could have ruined this component, also check all wire connections for water corrosion too

You vent is plugged very bad. Disconnect the vent tubing and thoroughly clean it out. It will heat and dry like new afterwards guaranteed. These dryers have sensors that shut the burner off if the exhaust is not venting properly. Once its cleared out it will run perfectly again

I have a ge profile dryer model dpsb513eboww and the sensor dry doesn't work properly. It runs 3 minutes then shuts off. The clothes are still wet. All else works fine.

You should inside the driver and on the front or back wall will be the sensor: two metal bars that send an electric current through the clothing. When the dryer detects more current goes through, it knows the clothes are still wet and keep running. If the sensor bars are broken, disconnected, or dirty, it will read no current and think you put clothes in there that were already dry. Make sure those contacts are nice and clean. Failing that, you'll need to test the sensor circuit for voltage to see what the problem is.

Dryer shuts off after 15 minutes and needs to cool down then will start again and the cylec continues!!On, off,on, off.

The problem is more likely a high temp limit switch. I don't have a schematic of your dryer, but one should be included somewhere on the dryer. You have to use a voltmeter to test the components in the circuit. The thermostat controls the heat temp, you may want to start there

GE Profile Dryer - sensor problem

When I pull up the exploded view of your model, it does not show an individual moisture sensor, but is does show disconnect plug(s) for it. I can only assume that the sensor bars are an intrical part of one of the front bulkhead components. That all being said, the most common reason for your symptoms is when people use fabric softener sheets in the dryer, the sheets leave a waxy type coating on the silver sensor bars inside the drum, near the air inlet to the lint filter. If you clean those two (usually about 4 inch long x about 1/4 inch wide) metal bars off, they will be able to detect the moisture level of the clothing again, and your dryer will work on auto dry again.
