If you take off the front panel you should see rubber straps on 4 sides an they sturdy the drum when spinning. It's probably rusted out like mine was. If it's a top loader.

My GE washer GTW460NMKwww, the drum will not balance itself when going into final spine cycle.

Are the clothes evenly distributed inside the drum and the washer not overloaded? The drum is not self balancing, you must take care when loading it to even the weight distribution

Why does my washing machine not complete a rinse & spin cylcle?

is it a top loader? if so, older top loaders do not have a balancing function so you must evenly distribute the load.

Why does my kemore elite always get out of balance when spinning worst with a light load

When Loading, Always Distribute Clothes Evenly (weight wise) With A Light Load Usually Clothes Will Become On One Side Before End Of Wash Cycle--If You Look Before Spin Cycle And This Had Happened, Redistribute and restart from present position (cycle wise)

GE Profile washer, tumbler out of balance?

Empty, fill with water only run through spin cycle. Replace clothes
do not overload and try to distribute clothes in an even weight pattern over the tub bottom.

Washer shakes during spin cycle

Sounds like the washer is off balance, washers have leveling feet you should adjust 1 or all until when u push the washer it does not move.If you still have this problem it could be the wash tub itself, always make sure when you load your washer to evenly distribute your clothes too.Hope this helps.

Why won't my washer go to a high speed spin when in the spin cycle? it drains the water out of the drum, but it doesn't go into the high speed spin.

well there is two possibilities and one is a safety precaution to keep from ruining the washer .
if the washer cannont distribute the load evenly it will only go into a slow spin try adding more clothes.... to evenly coat the drum >>. the other is if it is out of balance or the wsher isnt't level it will shake violently and spin in slow cause it detects an imbalance problem if this machine has operated a long time overladed , or unlevel it can wear out the tub schocks which takes all vibrations of the tub to give more of a gently ride the a are like schock absorbers....

Washing machine startee knocking loudly on spin cycles

this is usually an indication that your tub is off balance you need to stop the cycle let is come to a stand still and once it has stopped spinning then shift the clothes around to evenly distribute them. or remove some as it may be over filled and will not wash well if it is over filled. off balance can also mean over full so if it continues to knock then remove some items until it stops knocking

Machine not finishing cycle and final spin

If you only put a few items in the wash they may not be able to distribute evenly around the inside of the tub thereby causing it to become out of balance when it spins. Solution: put more cloths in. Or if you are trying to spin a large object such as a sheet, then take it out unravel it and put it back in.(It may have got knotted up). If there is still water in the drum you have a pump out problem which could be the pump, a blocked filter/sump, blocked outlet pipe or if your outlet is connected to an under sink waste, that may be blocked.

Unbalanced loads

There has been a noted problem with the Kenmore Oasis and the "Out of Balance" or "Ob" error. If this is what you are experiencing, the problem has been attributed to a couple of things. Not having sufficient amount of clothes in the wash tub during a wash cycle. That is...smaller loads cause a problem when the washer tries to distribute he weight evenly in the spin cycle. Not enough clothes, no balanced weight, you get an Out of Balance indication. The other problem (which tends to be the more common issue) is the control board under the operator console. The manufacturers developed a new software to run on the new and improved control boards that is supposed to correct this problem. Double check your load distribution first (which it seems you already have), then check with the manufacturer to see if there may be a recall on your washer that corrects this problem at no cost to the consumer. I hope this helps you some.

Machine not spinning due to uneven load balance although clothes are loaded evenly initially

I suggest you stick to the maximum load capacity (or less) of the machine; and not over-load the machine with clothes.
