With a voltmeter check to see if you are getting 240 volts to the elements the fan should be 120 volts depending on how unit is wired the control may have 2 separate relays that feed power to the elements if you do not hve 240 volts check power supply the check output voltage on the heat relay based on no heat unless fan running I would suspect a control board

Since you are asking about elements I assume this is an electric range working off of 240 volts. The other 2 answers are probably in the ball park with your problem. It sound like the range is only working off of 1/2 the voltage (120 volts). This will give you all types of strange operations. The problem could be a bad house breaker or if you have house fuses you may have 1 fuse bad (1 fuse for each side of the 120 volt circuit). If fuses and breakers are good, then you need to start checking wiring connections. Check the back of the range where the power cord connects, check the wall outlet where it plugs into. Somewhere is a bad connection. Just because it worked for 4 years doesn't mean one of the wires can't burn off or become corroded.

Double check the ground connection. I suspect it's come undone.

Bad wiring. I'd guess you are trying to run the elements via the fan! Double check your work. This could be a very dangerous situation if not to you, those near you.

If you have a volt ohm meter, check to make sure you have 220vac at the stove and or elements. If no volt ohm meter, Go to the main circuit breaker box, find the 220vac breaker probably 40 amp for the stove, turn it off. Double check the stove is off (so you have the right breaker) then reset. Return to the stove and see if all works well. If it does, it will soon return to this unusual behavior. Breakers get "tired" sometimes, so that one side of the breaker has "popped" but not the other side so stove is only getting 110VAC not the full 220. You should call an electrician to have the breaker replaced.

Cooling fans kick on for a few seconds then cut off

The fan should work off of the water temp. The fan will come on and off to keep the constant temp on the cooling water. If equipped with a second fan it is probably for the AC and will run when the A/C is on. If you think the fan should be on. Then If you know where the fan relay is check to see if it is hot, if real hot the relay may be going bad. Hope you know this when you turn the car off the fan can still come on if the water temp is to high. My thought fan going bad, temp sensor or relay may be the problem.. If you can touch the fan motor metal housing and it is real hot the fan man be going bad, remember the blades can start at any time.

Engine overheating quickly

there are 2 or 3 fans up front on all A/C equipped cars.
the fan closed to engine (rad rear) turns on parked and idling
all engines will overheat parked, if the fan goes dead.
so are you saying this fan is dead.?
if it dont overheat moving fast then the cooling system is usually good
and then you stop at a traffic light this fan must turn on.
on cars with 3 fans , some stage up, 2 on if too hot. or all 3 on.
the FSM covers this logic clearly.
in the USA car.
the element has 2 fans (some engine options my differ)
the right fan is for A/C
and left fan is for engine cooling, (im looking at alldata.com to see that)

the fan turns on via a relay that he PCM controls
the PCM see the ECT sensor in the engine go to over say 225F and
it closes the relay, and the fan spins at full speed.

fuse 4 runs this relay, in the fuse box
the relay and fuse are named
radiator fan.

Fisher and Paykel Paprika Oven Top Elements Full hot!!

No controller. The switch for each element (called a simmerstat) is what controls the heat. It is a common fault and will be fixed if you instal new simmerstat for each faulty element.

How hot is real hot, mine seams to be up around 200 mark, is this normal?I just bought bike and fixed regulator problem.

Disregard the gauge they can be inaccurate. Honda's can run hot depending on outside temperature, weather, traffic, etc. At freeway speeds you will find the standard needle position for driving. If the needle hits the red mark does the fan turn on ? This is a sign you are hot but OK. Are you boiling over? This means you have a problem with the fan, fan switch, thermostat, coolant level, or water pump. Every bike runs a little different you will have to determine what is normal (for your gauge) and work from there. If you are not boiling over and your fan works you may just have a high reading gauge or temp sender.

I have a whirlpool royale 1.5 ton window ac. Is it necessary to use fan with an ac? if yes then what should be the fan speed?

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. The fan has to be used in the air conditioning mode it doesn't have to be on if the compressor is running. The fan speed depends on the load if its not real hot you can run it on low if its real hot run it on high it is really a matter of comfortability when it comes to the fan speed on a window unit.

If the bottom one is good you get like luke warm then it will start cooling off.

If the top one is good it will be a burst of real hot then cold.

I have a Breezair evaporative cooling system. The other day it was running for a long time at full fan and then a smell of burning came from all of the vents. It was 39C outside. Turned it off immediately....

You probably burned up the high speed part of your motor. It is probably safe to use but it will operate at a reduced efficiency. If you are asking me if you should continue to use it, first you would have to tell me what 39 degrees C is, if that is hot, I'd say plan on replacing it pretty soon.

You may be able to replace the motor, but you will probably find that it is not economically feasable.

CPU fan races

thanks bigunit12 - as I suspected, no real concern

expect the noise is a pain.

I do think the HS might be marginal and so I shall replace sometime with a higher capacity model, also maybe increase fan flow capacity and add a case hot air extractor fan.

Just to make sure
