Why is my lawnmower new pto not engaging? it is a dealer item and i installed it in reverse order how i took the old one out.

The voltage at the electric needs to be checked. You have a bad switch or electrical connection.

Another way to check the pto is to apply 12V battery voltage directly to the clutch's electrical connector via jumper wires. If engages fully doing then you an electrical problem before the clutch.

Why my blade wont engage on my toro 74370 zeroturn mower

it has an electromagnetic clutch switch on it,that is more than likely bad. Try this, pull the pto switch out and start the engine, then disconnect the 2 wires coming from the switch and just tap them together and see if they will come on. If they do then you need to replace that switch.

Cant get the switch to acctavate the mower deck on a cub cadet lawnmower

Check the fuse, tan/blue wire coming off ig switch or tan coming off PTO sw.
If it keeps blowing, check wire going to PTO unit for shorts or defective connection to PTO.

I have a trot built zero turn , when i pull the pto switch up the blades will not come on , sometime it will come on and sometimes it wont ..

sounds like bad PTO switch. I can only guess if you were to pull and hold pto switch out the blades keep running. had similar problem with a John Deere la120. replaced push pull switch and was good to go.

I have a Kubota TG1860 G riding mower. the blades have stopped engaging. I have replaced the push/pull switch, didn't work. It clicks like it wants to work but doesn't engage. What else can I do?

belts, solenoid, ignition switch and the PTO, you can hook 12v directly to PTO and see if it is engaging, the ignition switch feeds 12v to the PTO, the switch/solenoid engages with the help of the pulleys and belts, just a matter of figuring if its the belts(or in may cases the tesioner pulley) Hope this helped Tim

Mower deck PTO switch will engage when pulled but stop when rele

The PTO switch has failed. There is an internal spring and plastic parts in toggle switches that keep them in the actuated position. It's not practical to take the switch apart to fix it, but replacement switches are readily available - probably $12 - $20. It's a good idea to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery before you do any electrical work. Be sure to put the wires on the corresponding terminals of the new switch. Good luck! Please rate if you find this helpful, thanks.

My electric PTO on my Husqvarna Model YTH180 does not engage

I'm having same problem. I think it's the switch, Running the system reads 14.6 volts. pull the switch No power to the lead that goes to PTO. if I jump 12v to the clutch the PTO engages fine. also changed the relay. Just wondering if there may be some other safety switch I may be missing? Hopefully it's just the switch. I dont know the likelyhood of those going bad the mower has tractor has 500 hours on it and looks damn near new.

I have a 19.5 hp craftsman lawnmower that wont fire I have changed the coil it has a magnetron armature need help.

make sure when you installed the coil you installed it, up right and gap at 0.010 . unplug the ground wire and recheck your spark. if you have none. bad coil. if you have spark, check your deck, set and clutch and back up safety switches. also check your black ground to the coil and see if it is cracked it my ground out some were on the engine. also if you have a Electric PTO turn you switch( inginshion) off pull out the pto and push back in and than see if you have spark. let me know if any of these or not, work . well go further.

Mower pto engages when initially started but after

the coil in the electric PTO shorts out when it expands by heat causing it to lose it's magnetic pull and disengages- I hate to say it,but you need a new PTO clutch.
