Question about Locks & Locksmithing

1 Answer

I have the key to my safe but cannot see a key hole for access. The safe is permanently installed in a bureau that I bought at an auction.

I locked it with a key because I never used a code. Now I can't find where to insert the key...tried everything. Have A & B on key pad. Battery is still OK. Little grey latch turns left and right but I can't see a key hole anywhere. Thanks for your help.

The key hole will be hidden by a plastic cover, often rectangular with the make or model on the front.

If you see such a cover then try squeezing top and bottom to release the catches that hold it in place.

you would need to hot wire the batteries for the code to work but if the batteries have gone flat then it needs to be re-programmed again ,only one soloution here and thats to open it with a radial cutter

How to close an SW3750 safe (by Sentry Safe)

To close and lock

You can relock the safe in two ways. With the door

closed, depress the key lock (if equipped) with your

finger, or spin the combination dial one full turn.

For greatest security, do both. (Make sure the door
handle is in the horizontal position.) There is a link to the manual at the bottom of this page...

The Emergency Override Key got stuck in the safe key hole and it cannot be removed.

Tap the area near the key with a hammer while pulling on the key. This will jiggle the pins in the lock.

Need the factory code for sentry safe model s3877

the only way into my 5073 model was to drill a small hole 4 inches up and 10 inches from the right edge. then curve a small wire round the size of a fifty cent piece. Inside the safe is a spring loaded lock that this will depress. Presto-

After having done that, the will be inside.

The key is located under the round medallion on the front. It pops off and a round style key fits in there. If it is a brinks, they will send you one.

Bought safe from auction with no key or combo. It is a v360 serial #m462763. Code 00000 doesn't work. Are their other factory codes.

The combination has for sure been changed to the owner's birthday or something like that.

If you look on the inside wall of the door, opposite to where the turn-knob is, there should be a square-ish hole.
That's where you insert the key for setting your own combination.

If it did not come with the safe, your local locksmith may know where to find one, or may even offer to set your new combination.

Unable to open electronic safe

Locksmiths say this is how to install sentry safe batteries
slide open the battery cover located just below the keypad.
Insert a paper clip or pen point into the small hole in the cover. Push in while sliding cover to the right. Disconnect and remove the battery holder. Insert the 4-batteries as indicated.
reconnect the connector and put back the battery holder. Slide the cover back in place.
How do I insert the batteries on my advanced electronic lock safe? On the newer model Fireproof Sentry Safes my locksmith recommended me To install batteries,
turn the electronic lock case to the right and remove. Insert four new batteries as indicated, replace the electronic lock case and turn to the left to reassemble.

Try logging in as Administrator with no password, if it says that account is disabled, reboot in safe mode (while the comptuer is coming up, hit the F8 key - then choose safe mode) and then log in as Administrator with no password. Then you can go to control panel and take off the passwords for the users.
