When i start the vehicle a moderately loud double click is heard in rythem with the rpm. As i accelerate the vehicle the double click acclerates as well. The valve train was recently serviced . Also i have to kick under the passenger side dash to get the blower motor to work ,.. what might that be?
Yes to Allan, but for heater, replace the blower resister..don't kick it..cheers
Hi Abner Clicking noise, if it goes with speed of engine and wasn't there before the valve train was adjusted. Take it back to be rechecked. If the valve train was adjusted to try and get rid of the clicking sound and it hasn't worked. The only thing you can do is get someone with technical knowledge to have a look at it. Unfortunately noises are somewhat impossible to diagnose unless you are standing at the vehicle. ( check engine oil level).
Blower motor one of four things (1) Poor electrical connection ( loose or slightly burnt connection to motor remove connector and check). repair or replace as necessary. (2) Something stopping the fan from turning (if pollen filter fitted above motor remove and with a mirror and torch check down inside on top of fan. (3) if a heater rheostat/resister is fitted in the location of the heater box this maybe faulty however when these fault it normally allows the fan to only work when you switch fan to maximum speed. (4) the fan itself is faulty . replace fan/motor. Good luck
SOURCE: 98 ford windstar has clicking noise under dash and won't start
The clicking noise is most likly the starter solinoid cycling in and out. This is due to low battery voltage. charge the battery, then have the battery and charging system tested. Some auto supply stores will do this for free for you in the hopes of selling parts
good luck
SOURCE: 4x4 doesn't engage
that box does engage the transfercase to 4x4,there is a small electric motor on the transfercase thats probably bad,try hitting it lightly with a hammer because just like an electric window motor it has brushes in it as well, but its possible that motor is shorting out causing it to draw alot from the charging system,at least my 1993 Ford Bronco did the same thing and thats what i replaced and now it works fine.
SOURCE: 2004 explorer clicking under dash
this noise is the air temperature control blend door motor, a very common problem and very hard to repair, he dash must be removed to access the motor..
SOURCE: clicking noise from engine when accelerating
The fact that it happened after you got it serviced is obvious that there something that was not done right. Check the engine oil, cuz clicking noise is sometimes caused by not enough engine oil or no oil at all!!
SOURCE: Loud clicking noise from dash whenever heat
I have and 2002 with rear air and had the same noise and problem in the back. There is motor in the back that moves a flapper door open and closed to blend the hot and cold. The motor has plastic gears in it and they strip out making a clicking noise when the motor cannot hit the point that the heat control dial is being set too. Probably the same set under the front dash. You will more than likely need to by a new motor assy.
