Rick, I test these things for safety. With the door closed, if you can cram an index card width between the door edge and frame for those that fit flush... get a new one. You don't want to keep a leaker anywhere. If it has a recessed door, this isn't a problem as microwaves move only in straight line from the magnetron. Straighten up the hinges and tighten them and you'll be good to go!

Hello Rick, thank you for your inquiry!

From my understanding you need to fix a door that is sagging on your Frigidaire microwave. Your door could be sagging due to the hinges or the door being damaged. I would check to make sure there is no visible damage. It is possible that the hinges and door may need to be replaced as well. To help avoid any unnecessary part purchases you may need to seek assistance from a professional technician for proper repairs. -Matt

Same - the counter counts down, but doesn't cook.

Yes your door isnt aligning right when closed and the lower interlock isnt being made when shut. Look and see if where the door pivots if it is broke or sagging down.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

If the door seal is damaged or out of alignment, there is a chance of leakage, which can cause burns, damage to the oven or even a fire hazard.

Sagging frigidaire microwave door

If your door is removable, look where there is a plastic seal or ring on the door itself. It is usually attached to a bracket or near there someplace. I have taken plastic washers and put in place, otherwise replaced the parts that are worn out on the door assembly.

Tell kids not to pull on door while in use. Harder said then done. I have 9 children and they all have done this. My youngest still thinks he can microwave GI Joe to death.

Anyrate, if the issue I gave doesn't work, try your local appliance repair store. Sometimes they can help by either repair or giving advice.

Good luck.
