Question about Sanyo DP50749 50 in. Plasma TV

1 Answer

What can I do to fix my Sanyo tv off and on issues? It keeps blinking or flicking off and on screen but it works good and stable when playing video games I would appreciate any tips or help thanks

Notes I'm having some issues with my 50inch plasma Sanyo tv. it keeps blinking or flicking off and onthe screen goes black for a second than comes back on so much that my family can't even enjoy watching a movie on netflix, along with some small television static on the screen, but the power lights stay on. Don't know what's the problem but the tv is perfectly normal and stable when playing video games on the ps3. What can I do to fix this issue?

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

\When playing screen flicked with green then

The Problem is not with the cables ,as you found out.
It's the Interlace video feed pins under the G.P.U.
looks like pin 408 -409. going intermittent (breaking open).

There are 3 Remedies for this problem.

1 send it to Microsoft for repair.
2 send take it to a shop to have the G.P.U. re-flowed back
to the main board.
3 replace the X clamp that holds down the G.P.U.with 10-24 by 3/8 long
pan head screws . Then over heat the G.P.U. only . and keeping
the fan over the C.P.U. . takes about 10min and the unit will
be working again. this fix will last from 1-6 months.

If you have any questions just comment and ill respond.

Rob
then overheat the unit

New sanyo hdtv and old vcr...can't get menu to appear on screen

there is an input or input select button that gives you cable, hdmi and video composite,to run the vcr. hook up cable and put the tv on channel3 to make sure that works first, then play with the rca cables. keep in mind a tape has to be playing, the new tv have a signal sense circuit,if there is just "snow" you get a blue screen

Red light blinking system error E74

this might be a hardware failure. try turning it off then back, or try keeping a fan on it when you play on and if that doesn't work call 1800myxbox there you'll find step by step instructions to send it down to texas and get it fixed. if that happens three times you will recieve a brand new xbox 360 that has that problem fixed. also keep in mind to keep your hard drive before you send it to be fixed. i really hope this helps with your problem
-good luck

Can't get new DVD player to play

On some sets there is a button on your remote marked "TV/VIDEO" or some such text. With your tv and player hooked up and working, pushing that button will switch from TV to video and back.

On other sets, if you keep changing channels, you will eventually come to one that turns off the video broadcast and plays the DV.

Good Luck

Hi again,

Sorry bout the Live Session.

May I suggest something?
Pls try another signal source other than the indoor antenna such as a DVD or even an old VCR.

It is possible that what you are experiencing is video muting due to dirty antenna signal. If even with a stable known to be good video source (DVD) the problem persist, then it is a matter of checking the voltages as indicated in your service manual.

Hope this be of some help/idea even if the chat did not work out. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
