Question about Garden
If the battery is now fully charged, the first thing I'd suggest is to remove the battery terminals and check for corrosion or nastiness that is inhibiting the flow of current.
If its a reasonably new rider, there will be safety switches under the seat, so you have to be sitting ON the machine before it will allow an attempt. It will also have a safety switch in the blade circuit so make sure the blades are switched to the off position before attempting.
My money is on corrosion though.

sounds like it didnt take a charge; make sure all electrical connections are good and that it is getting power to the built-in charger. is there a indicator showing that its charging? are all the wires on the mower connected? you may need to get a new battery
