Va1703 wb blinking problem

That is a sure indication of a failure in the power supply board. The problem is that Viewsonic used two different power supply boards in the va1703wb model. If you want to do the repair yourself you should be able to. If you can open the unit and send a picture of the power supply board to us at we would be glad to show you what parts need to be replaced to rebuild the board and get it back up and running.

My SD3990 DVD plsyer will not power on

ensure that there is power in the socket and check that the power cable is firmly fixed to the socket. if power does not come on then switch off, remove the power cable from the socket then open the dvd player cover. plug in the power cable again and now measure if you are able to get power into the power supply unit. if power is reaching the psu then measure the output power which feeds 12v to the motherboard, if not present then concentrate on diadnosing the power supply unit as the power ic could be dead and requires replacement.

Got a Filter Queen Majestic Limited Edition, the one with the high and low power switch, an I have to change the power cord. How can I open the main unit to reach that power cord? Thanks,

first remove the top cap under your handle.
Then, remove the three screws under the handle.
remove the rubber cover on the switch
undo the clamps on the side of the unit
lift off the chrome cover with the cord on it by the handle itself.

When you have the access there, change the filter inside the upper chamber as well.

Good luck

I have a Soyo 19" TFT LCD Monitor MT-NI-DYLM1998 when i power on the computer the monitor come on then after a very short time (less than 10 seconds) the display goes off but the power and signal are still...

medproducts, Nothing new here. Check internal "switch-mode-power-supply board" only after devoting about 1-2 hours of viewing "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" video clips at YOUTUBE!!! Then you will need to make big decision!!! Let me and all who read this know what your plan of action is.

Osd display

jsnent1, If monitor has manufacturing date close to 2006, then unit may have problem internal to it's switch-mode-power-supply. If smps dc output gets noisey due to bad or failed filter capacitors strange things may start showing up on-screen of lcd panel. Technician will need to evaluate unit and repair it. At least do another post and give me some history of unit so other readers will also know what to do if this problem occurs with their units. Also tell us the date of manufacture from rear cover of unit. 12fixlouie

LG L227WTG just quit working. 0n/Off button

jefkare, If unit is still covered by warranty LG (Lucky Goldstar) should replace it! Sure seems like a "switch-mode-power-supply" failure to me. try using unit at a KNOWN GOOD pc to see if problem moves with the monitor. Next, prove that different monitor functions perfectly with your PC. Try reinstalling drivers for LG L227 maybe that will work. Also try setting the screen resolution to a lower setting. Good luck guy. Do a reply if in need of further assistance. Bye for now. 12fixlouie on fixya.

My plasma tv want turn on

there could be the following reasons. If there is the red light on indicating the power reaching the TV then your power supply unit may be faulty. Open the back cover and look where the power cord goes and meet the components inside and it would also have a transformer like thing on it. This is the PSU module. If any of the capacitors is bulged or burst then that needs replacing with one of exactly the same specifications. Do that. Second is that there is no indication of the power reaching the TV. In that case check the plug and the wall socket and also the power on switch on the TV. Whatever is faulty should be replaced.

ACER X223W KEEPS SWITCHING ITSELF ON AND OFFI have tried another monitor to check its not the video card but its definatly the monitor

davidturn970, If your unit is not covered by ACER warranty you just might want to pay a visit to YOUTUBE to search for and view some video clips of typical "LCD monitor disassembly" and "LCD monitor repair" so that you can LEARN what the most common components in the "switch-mode-power-supply" / INVERTER supply fail. From your description (on/off/on/off/on/off),I would suspect that the SMPS is cycling IN and OUT of SHUTDOWN mode, trying to save itself from what is commonly known as CATASTROPHIC failure! (smoke&fire). Also visit , , for more information that will help you to make a decision of what to do with your LCD monitor. The more information you have the better. If you think this response was helpful, please rate it on fixya. 12fixlouie Bye for now.

19" ITV Flat Panel LCD

Jayon, Need more information!!! Did unit work "perfectly" day before? What did you SEE on the screen when you pushed the on/off buton? How many hours of use does this unit have on it? Is there a blinking LED power indicator on the front panel? Does unit hav sound or no sound? Does screen go completely BLACK? This symptom you have described leads me to think that the unit's SMPS/inverter power supply is going into "SHUTDOWN" mode to save itself from self destruction!!! You will need a Tech to look at it and try to effect a repair. There's not a lot of options you have open to you at this time. If you feel brave enough to try to do a close visual inspection of the switch-mode-power-supply and inverter supply on your own, get back to me. You will also need to do some research on the web for information such as "bad capacitors", "cold-cathode-fluorescent-tube replacement", "switch-mode-power-supply" repair and or "LCD monitor repair and or recapping" You also need to view monitor disassembly video clips on youtube to familarize yourself with what is inside a typical LCD monitor/TV. But that's only if your technically inclined. I'm louis12fix on fixya or lmistyrel
Bye for now.
