Why do you say it's the toner? Likely the PCU (photoconductor) needs replacing, or laser optics, etc.
If it's not a 'blinking toner light' that won't go away, but rather light copies for no apparent reason, then replacing the PCU is the most likely cure.

On this model, you cannot. It will lock you out when the chip reports you have reached the maximum pages, or when the printer toner sensing laser reaches the contact on the other side because the toner level in the cartridge is too low to block it. You can replace the chip if you can find one online, or I have access to the chips if you need one. The other issue is that if it has locked you out, it means that the toner is close to low and may only print 10 more or 100 more pages by just replacing the chip, so this may not be a cost-effective solution for you.

Hi,

Have you done refilling recently ? If so besides refilling the cartridge with toner there is a chip in it that you should change so the printer will know that a new cartridge is installed.

You will be wasting money buying just a chip. The toner and all is in the cartridge. Normally when the replace message comes on, the cartridge is shot.

1. Push 8 times button MENU then OK to print a report and view your version of firmware
2. REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.13 ONLY WITH 1.13_fix
3. REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.16 ONLY WITH 1.16_fix
4. REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.18 ONLY WITH 1.18_fix
5. REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.21 ONLY WITH 1.18_fix
6. DO NOT REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.23, I DON'T HAVE FIRMWARE VERSION 1.23

IF YOU REPLACE FIRMWARE VERSION WITH WRONG VERSION A "SCANNER ERROR" OCCURS AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS WHICH MEANS YOUR SCANNER MATRIX IS BURNED OUT AND MUST BE REPLACED
