To remove / reset the uninstall password for Trend Micro OfficeScan
Edit Ofcscan.ini file.
On Windows.95/98 machines it is usually in C:\Windows\Ofcscan.ini
On Windows.NT/2K machines it is usually in C:\WINNT\Ofcscan.ini
May also be in C:\Program Files\...
Open the Ofcscan.ini file using notepad search for the [INI_CLIENT_SECTION]
Find the line reading Uninstall_Pwd= and type a # at the beginning of the line to comment it out.
Insert a new line saying Uninstall_Pwd=70
Save the Ofcscan.ini file and retry the uninstall. When it prompts you for a password, enter a '1'.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

How do I stop unwanted anti-virus/ pop up blocker software from running on my laptop. I have uninstalled it multiple times at the control panel?

First, ensure you are logged on as an ADMINISTRATOR.
I would try uninstalling it in Safe Mode (F8 on boot option) & immediately run a registry cleaner such as CCLEANER (freeware).
If that doesn't do it, try going into control panel/admin tools/services & check if the program is listed, if it is disable it in the settings table, then reboot and repeat above from top. Good Luck

How do I get micro trend off my system w/o password

Greetings,
First thing I would do in your case is get a free program that will delete files and erase them completely. Click Here for that. Now I would go to control panel and go to add or remove programs if Windows 7 your using go to control panel select programs and features.
Find Micro Trend and remove it from your programs. If it will remove all the files then go to Windows Security Essentials. This is that easiest and free anti-virus software and I use it without a hitch. For those of us who do not like to spend or waste money on virus software that is over-inflated in price for one and you can get what you need works just as good and in some cases even better. Simple to install and does not cost a dime.
I find it amazing how these companies especially the average user gets burned buying anti-virus software when it is free to download. That is how to deal with that issue. When your finished uninstalling Micro Trend off of your computer a pop up will appear and say your computer is at risk you need to install antivirus software. That is when you know you got rid of it. Now Click Here to get the free stuff be sure to pick your Windows Operating System correctly 32 bit most likely will do you fine, that is the most common..........John

Here's a link to one of the better anti-virus programs. I have used this one for several years and it does the job. You may have to uninstall Trend Micro and then install A.V.G. as most anti-virus programs will conflict with each other.

ICMP packets not working on Dell Latitude D620

With vista I had the same problem, but when I enabled network fileshareing and set up some network drives it started to answer on ping requests, so it should be one of the networking protocols to enable.

SpySweeper Anti Virus conflicts with Trend Micro AntiVirus

I would remove Spy Sweeper and Trend Micro. Then I would install the free versions of AVG, Ad-aware 2008, WinPatrol SpyBlaster and ScrubXP .

I have been using this combo for years and have had no problems as long as you keep them updated.

Hi kja2 ,

2 anti-virus software can not co-exist on a computer system ; therefore you did the correct thing by uninstalling the old anti-virus first . However , there are lots of anti-viruses which do not get deleted (uninstalled) by going to Start > control panel > Add/Remove program. These anti-virus have to be removed by special "uninstallers" . I do not know which Anti-virus you have on your system , therefore I will provide you with the link of most common anti-virus uninstallers :

Symantec: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
McAfee: http://ts.mcafeehelp.com/displayDoc.asp?docID=408302&categoryId=246&lastCategoryLog=1&HotT
Trend Micro: http://esupport.trendmicro.com/support/viewxml.do?ContentID=EN-1033129

once the antivirus is removed through the uninstaller , then try installaing the new anti-virus which was giving you "files corrupt" message ... it will then work fine.
Also , . I would like to suggest you a very good anti-virus which you can download free of cost from internet :

Goodluck :-)

Uninstalling Anti-virus Software

go to your main window. select start and run. in the window that pops up, type regedit and enter or ok. the registry screen comes up. choose edit and "find." in that window type any occurence of the trend program - any names associated with it. and hit ok. it will scan the registry and stop when it finds anything doing with trend or its wording. right click on the item and it will verify that you want to delete it, say yes and its gone! now hit F3 it will continue its search and stop. do again what you did above and hit F3 again. even if you manage to delete the program through control panel add/remove programs, a mirror file stays in the registry unless you do a regedit to remove it. be careful, the registry runs your machine. delete the wrong thing and you could be reformatting your hard drive.
