How do you make lines appear on an excel sheet?

I'm not sure what Version you're using, so I'll assume after Excel 2010.
At the top of the page, under the Home tab and directly under the Font window, there is an icon which looks like a window frame (dotted all around except on the bottom edge).
In your spreadsheet you have to select the area you want to work on. You can select a single cell to add lines to or the whole spreadsheet. Click on the icon I described above and a menu box will pop down. There many choices which allow you to select lines on all sides of your work. I prefer the one at the bottom which says 'More Borders'. With that window you select the edges you want lines on, the thickness/type of the line, or put an outline.
I think that's enough for now and I hope that gets you started.

I have a HP Photosmart Premium C309a and it prints word documents fine but it only prints the first column of spreadsheets. Nothing else from the spreadsheet prints. Just the first column. Very weird. ...

I doubt any problems in the printer.

From your'e spreadsheet, Select printing range and print preview the sheet. If all appears on screen then print it.

good luck

Alignment problems with hp 9800

Look inside, use alcohol to wipe the encoder strip. The encoder is the clear plastic that runs across behind the carriage assembly. You need to wipe carefully, maybe a Q-tip but don't press too hard. Ink and spots on that strip cause the problem you are seeing.

When I try to merge my excel document with 250

Hi deloisr

It looks like you have chosen the wrong data file. Probably an earlier version of your data still present in some folder.
Check these
Do you have column headings for every column?
Make sure which folder contain the file? What exactly is the name?
When you are in the Microsoft word, make sure you select the correct data file for your mail merge. If you have selected the correct data file, when you attempt to insert the merge fields, there is no way, it give wrong field names.
The only reason you get the erong field names is because you have the wrong excel file for your data. Fix this problem first, then the rest will sort themselves out.
Have a good day.

Works 8 Word Process set Repeating Page Column Headers

Choosing the single cell below rows you want to repeat on each page and to the right of the column you want to repeat and then freezing that cell will cause those rows and that column to repeat on each page as you print. works fine on preview. However I still can't get the machine to print.

Duplicacy in excel sheet

Since you are searching the data by the phone number , first select all the data in the spreadsheet and sort it in ascending order by the phone number.
Then, assuming you have 5 columns of data A through E, and the phone numbers are in column E, with row 1 occupied by column headings, use the following formula in cell F2=IF(E2=E1,"Duplicate",1)

Drag this formula down column F till the end of your data
Select the entire data and do an auto filter
In column F filter the data by Duplicate and delete all these rows
What remains should be unique data

Unable to create chart in excel

Check the source data that it is using to create your chart (right-click choose SOURCE DATA). The result you're getting sounds as if it may not include all the data you want to chart. Generally should include at least two rows AND at least two columns.
