Good morning Sarah,

Generally, staplers will accept several different length's of staples so long as they are the correct series for that tool. Have a look in the manual or, on the tool it's self as they do usually say somewhere on the magazine what the stapler will accept.

Where do I get staples for a B&D stapler? #9700

There are several brands of staples that will fit your stapler and the price will vary according to the depth of staple you are looking to buy. Arrow brand staples are the most common. All the ones I saw that fit the 9700 are Wide Crown Swingline Heavy Duty

I am having problems getting the staple to go all the way in -- recovering dining room chair seats. I have lost the manual -- does the dial with + and - have something to do with it? Stanley TRE500...

Hi Rita,

Yes, the + and - adjusts the depth of the staple. You should check the setting periodically as it has a tendency to move as you handle the stapler.
Also, holding the nose of the staple flush and steady on the surface helps to drive them to the proper depth.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up, keeps me working... Thanks,

Handie Andie

This tool only accepts brads from a minimum length of 12mm (half inch). It will accept staples from 6mm though. (quarter inch)

I have a Rexel Titan 12 'Tacker'. Please can you tell me where I can find a supplier that sells Rexex No 37/10 Staples? I have tried the most obvious places............B&Q, Staples....WH Smiths etc...

I have the same problem, but apparently the staples for it are no longer made. I have managed to get some shorter 6mm ones from a seller on uk Ebay, they still have over 10 boxes left. Search for Rexel 37/6.

Hello; If the gun is AIR operated, adjust the AIR presure DOWN on the regulator on the air compressor tank? If it is electric operated! there should be a depth DIAL (say 1-8, 1 being the least depth and 8 being the most; depending on the hardnest of the item being stapled) trial & error to be tried on a scrap piece first......! hope this helps, John.

TRE 500 Staples don't go in deep enough.

Dial controls depth. Set it to "+." Watch out setting isn't accidently changed during use. Tre500 isn't powerful enough for hardwoods, etc.
