You should be able to adjust the bobbin tension. If the bobbin fits inside a metal bobbin carrier, there is a small screw on the side of the carrier that can be tightened or loosened. Of the bobbin sits free, somewhere in the thread path is a spring loaded point with a screw for adjustment.
You manual should tell you how to do this. It's not very hard.
