I did it!!! I left it alone for a couple days, and tried again with fresh eyes-discovered a combination of button clicks that I hadn't tried, and fixed it!!!

SOURCE: no video

Is the video cable composite or s-video? the output from the receiver to the sets line input (1,2,3,s-video) must be the same on most receivers. If the game console uses composite (yellow rca connector) to the receiver, the same cable must be the same from receiver to TV. Some receivers do "up convert" to s-video or to Progressive scan (red, green, blue rca connectors) and do not follow this rule. Yor set needs to be switched to the correct input as well. None of the receivers I have services thus far hve the 75ohm cable lug for RF. Check all the cableing and repost if you find something new or different.

SOURCE: video input

If there is no input button on the tv itself to change the input then you will most likly need a remote. so you can get a universal remote and follow the instructions to adapt it to your set then you can use it to change the input. (you can get a universasl remote for like 10$) hope it helped

There should be a wide/screen size/ format button on the TV remote that allows you to make those adjustments.

Have new 55ux600u toshiba. Hooked up a one year old wii and get no color

The 55ux600u toshiba hdtv has a setting that needs to be changed with the wii in order to get color.
1. Click 'Menu' on the TV remote 2. Arrow over to 'Preferences' 3. Arrow down to 'AV Connection' 4. Click 'OK' 5. Arrow down to 'AV Input' 6. Change setting from 'ColorStream HD' to 'Video' by clicking the right arrow. 7. Hit the'Exit' button on the TV remote.
This will give you color for your Wii. You will have to change this setting back in order to view DVDs in color. :-)

57H83 57 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television: I have a Toshiba 57H83 and recently purchased the ...

I would suggest to leave your directtv hd/dvr box connected the way It is.
The HD Colorstream 1input on your TV should work just fine.
This TV does not have an HDMI input but you can buy an adapter and connect to DVI/HDCP IN and that might be able to get 1080i video resolution on your TV.

Are you connecting these devices to the ColorStream inputs?

If so you will need to set the output settings on the DVD player or your camera to 480i. You have an HD capable TV but it is old technology and is not capable of handling the signal levels produced by HD equipment these days.

Look at the menu options on your equipment and most of them have the ability to put out the lower level signal or just hook them up using the standard yellow/red/white inputs. Hope this helped.

Good Luck..

I plug all the right stuff in but its not coming on the screen...i have i fixed to video and everything

Assuming you plugged in everything correctly, (power, yellow white and red) and have set the TV to the proper channel/input, there are only a few other possibilities:

1. Video cord may be bad (unlikely)
2. Xbox 360 may have some sort of hardware problem (would have to ship it in for repairs if it does)
3. TV won't support it. To check that, all you have to do is try it on a different TV.

Oh and something else I remembered. On the end of the video cord that goes into the Xbox, there's a little switch on the side of it. Make sure you have it set appropriately

Good Luck :)

Its not broken or nothin i was wondering how to put the input for cabel from cable/sat to colorstream hD1

Cable boxes or satellite receivers typically only come with audio/video output, RF output, and component output. You need an upgraded one which has the Hdmi output jack. The upgraded box will cost you a service fee around $5-10 a month, so if you don't want to pay to receive the 1080p service you can receive 720p by using the component video output leads from your cable box.

The quality is almost as good. The only difference will be that you won't be able to receive the hi-def channels that the cable company offers.
