Question about NEC NP-M300W
According to the projector manual, 9 blinks indicates a DYNAMIC CONTRAST error. I'm not sure what this means. I have inspected the iris unit Part No. 24B17981 and found it to be clean and undamaged. I can also confirm that there is no issue with the lamp or the filters. I have ten of these projectors all suddenly experiencing the same issue, so any help would be greatly appreciated. A disassembly plan can be found here: http://www.mobilepro.ch/page/info.mv?NOFRAMES+0+3+37+82+DETAIL+MNNMFILTERSET+NEC%20DISPLAY%20SOLUTIONS+Projektoren+Zubeh%F6r#
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Blinking status light
Replacing the lamp with an old one was helpful for me. Good news: the projector itself not faulty. Bad news: I have two projectors with the same issue at the same time (the lamps were replaced also at the same time) after only 400 hours of running.

if the status light is blinking red in 4 sec interval it means that there is something wrong with cooling system. you shold check if there is a thermostat failure or if there are any switches that are not turned on. i suggest you to open the device (using screwdriver) and check if there are any switches broken or damaged.
i had pretty much the same problem (one second interval). i took off the cover and there was a broken switch and i just short-circuit it and now it works
Sorry for my english

SOURCE: MY new NEC NP215 just
unfortunately even if it's a new projector, the lamp can go bad. since you stated that it's new, i would get in contact with NEC support, and let me know what going on. it should be still covered under warranty.

check the thermostat; it appears that either the thermostat is not working properly, or is not set right or damaged
