Question about Xerox WorkCentre 4150 All-In-One Laser Printer

Open Question

How do you force a delete of a formatting job on a WorkCentre 4150

Job is stuck on formatting and will not delete through any means. Can't get access to system admin, won't allow you in, can access it through CWIS and delete other jobs that will not print but can't delete the problem job. Can't update firmware nor anything else with that job in there. This is a 4150S or now 4150C

SOURCE: My Xerox Wokcentre 4260 is

Solution : Perform an On Demand Image Overwrite (ODIO) Image Overwrite Security protects against unauthorized retrieval of confidential data from the machine by removing image data that is left when jobs are processed. When started, all of the physical areas of the hard disks holding job data are overwritten with a series of alphanumeric patterns.
There are two options for On Demand Image Overwrite: Standard and Full Overwrite. Standard ODIO will overwrite all jobs stored in image data as well as fax card image data. Standard ODIO will not overwrite fax mailbox, Poll store (mailbox 0) and dial directory information, or folders created with the Store Job feature, if these features are installed on the machine. Standard overwrite takes about 30 minutes. Full overwrite takes approximately 160 minutes to complete.
NOTE: Full ODIO will overwrite and delete all fax image data, including mailboxes, Poll store and dial directories on the fax card. Full ODIO will also overwrite any images that have been stored in folders created with the Store Job feature. When On Demand Image Overwrite is initiated, the machine is taken offline until the overwrite is completed. Any existing jobs in the queue are terminated, including print, fax and LAN fax jobs.
NOTE: Overwrites can also be performed on a per-job basis, immediately after each job has been processed, using Immediate Image Overwrite. See the Related Items below for additional information.
CAUTION: The machine should not be in Diagnostics mode when the overwrite is started. (The Touch Screen indicates a status of "Diagnostics Mode". This mode is used by Customer Service Representatives when servicing the machine.)

Do not power off the machine while an overwrite is in progress.

To perform an On Demand Image Overwrite from the Control Panel:

  1. Access the Tools screen. See the Related Items below for additional information.
  2. Select [Security Setting].
  3. Select [Image Overwrite Security].
  4. Select [On Demand Image Overwrite].
  5. Select the [Standard / Full Overwrite] button to switch between the two options, and select the required option.
  6. Select [Overwrite Now].
  7. The Overwrite Confirmation screen will be displayed. Select the [Overwrite] button to begin, or select [Cancel] to cancel the On Demand Image Overwrite. The machine will be taken offline and will be unable to receive any incoming jobs. The Image Overwrite will proceed to overwrite all image data on the hard disk.

NOTE: If Embedded Fax is installed, all Embedded Fax compact flash data will also be overwritten.

  8. When the overwrite is complete, the On Demand Image Overwrite completion screen will be displayed.
  9. Select [Close]. The Disk Overwrite Confirmation Report will print. This details the status and time of the overwrite. The Network Controller will then reboot and network functionality will be unavailable for several minutes.

When the machine has rebooted, verify that the overwrite operation has completed by viewing the Confirmation Report (under Confirmation Details). The Job Information: Status ESS Disk parameter should read "SUCCESS".

SOURCE: won't print says try printing

Hi there,
Please try resetting the counters:
Go To Tools > More > Supplies Management
Another thing you can try is to reset through the software:
Go To Tools > More > Software Reset
A pop-up window will appear warning you that jobs in the system may be lost and asking you to confirm that you wish to continue. If you confirm this message the machine will reboot the system software. This will clear the cache of the printer memory.
If both does not work:
Try resetting the NVRAM of the printer by following the steps on this website:
http://www.laserquipt.com/support/idx/42/615/article/-Reset-the-Printer-to-the-Factory-Defaults-NVRAM-Reset-.html

Hope this helps!

My Xerox 4150 keeps taking lots of blank pages through when printing multiple page documents sometimes 30 or 40 at a time

Two possible solutions to your problem.
If you are talking about grabbing more sheets than one from the tray, you need to make sure the tray guides are up flush against the paper.
If on the other hand you are talking about scanned/copied jobs, check the setting for your scanner, it may be set to letter size which is longer than A4, so the machine thinks it needs another sheet to complete the job causing a blank page to be sent.
Hope this helps

I need to change my Xerox workcentre 4150 toner cartridge. The old cartridge is stuck and I cannot get it out. Any ideas? Thank you. Russ thornock

You have to twist them clockwise and then counter clockwise. There is a locating pin they stick on in back, All I can say is twist and pull.
You can try opening the right side door and sliding a thin bladed screwdriver in there to assist in lostening it .
That is not uncommon and is frustraiting.

Hi,
I assume you've turned everything off and back on again, including the printer and the job is still stuck.

For windows XP,
click on the start button, click on run
type
net stop spoolsv
click OK
wait 30 seconds
click on the start button, click on run
type
net start spoolsv
click OK
Open the printer and refresh the print queue, has the job cleared?

If not we will need to clear the temporary spool files from the spool folder.

click on the start button, click on run
type
net stop spoolsv
click OK

The usual path to the spool folder is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS,

Delete the files in this folder only, if you are not sure do not delete them.
Close this window.

click on the start button, click on run
type
net start spoolsv
click OK

Alternatively, if you are comfortable using the run command, do the following in sequence. Be very careful what you type *.* means everything in the folder.

net stop spooler
del %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.* /q /f
net start spooler

/Q - for no prompt
/F - to force the deletion
