Needs to be a gap of just 1 meter from the top of the cooker to the hood any lower and you will hit your head or it will suck out the heat has you cook taking longer to cook

Dryer Ducting Installation Advice

Here's some useful guidance for installing dryer ducting. Improperly installed ducting can cause the following:

GAS DRYERS - Rapid burn cycling and improper drying results.
ELECTRIC DRYERS - Premature Heating Element failures.

IMPORTANT! NEVER terminate ducting in a chimney, under an enclosed crawl space or attic, and never common a dryer duct with a kitchen exhaust.

The total length of ducting and number of turns should be kept to a minimum. Semi-rigid metal type ducting is strongly recommended as it is more durable and resists collapsing.

If connecting sections of ducting, all joints should be tight to avoid leaks. The male end of each section must point AWAY from the dryer to prevent lint from accumulating at each junction. Ductwork should NOT be assembled with screws or fasteners that extend INTO the duct as this also will create points where lint will become snagged and accumulate. Wrap overlapping sections of ducting with duct tape.

A screen should NEVER be installed over the exhaust duct termination. The preferred termination is a dampered wall cap having a 4 inch opening. It must be installed a minimum of 12 inches above the ground.

Maximum Length of Metal Duct:

# of 90 degree elbows:

4" Semi-Rigid 4" Flexible
0 - 58 ft 28 ft
1 - 48 ft 23 ft
2 - 38 ft 19 ft
3 - 29 ft 17 ft
4 - 21 ft 15 ft

NOTE: It is recommended that you inspect your dryer ducting periodically to ensure you have no lint build up. Excessive lint can present a fire hazard.

What size fresh air vent do I need in a boiler room with a gas boiler and gas hot water heater with about 220,000 btu combined

I suggest that you run a duct that is 3 inches larger than the furnace duct . and you should run it down close to the floor and aim it in the direction of the furnace. this will trap warm air above the vent and supply an adequate supply of air for combustion. also make sure you have insulated any pipes in the furnace room that carry water or steam you want heat where you live, not going up the chimney.

When the hot water heater is running water leaks from the chimney. the pipe from the heater to the chimney is dry upon removal. about 3 gals. of water leaks from the chimney with two showers.

If I understand correctly, your Bock gas water heater vent is causing water to leak down into chimney.
This is a very serious concern

Water leaking from water heater flue indicates improper venting.
The hot air gasses from water heater combustion contain water vapor, but the gas should vent out of house before condensate forms on pipes.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-at-bottom-of-water-heater.html#flue

The problem might be caused by a power vented furnace that pushes vent air from furnace down into flue pipe for water heater. As a result, the water heater doesn't vent properly.
There could also be a clog.
Light a match under water heater draft hood and see if smoke from match travels instantly upward.

There are two major concerns.
1) If vent is not working, it means that odorless CO gas is entering home instead of venting outdoors.
CO carbon monoxide is deadly poison.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CO_poisoning
This is a very serious concern
You can buy CO detector after vent is repaired.

2) Water condensate will eventually rust away vent pipes because of acidic content of the combustion vapor. It can be expensive to replace pipes, and pipes with holes pose risk of CO poisoning.

My suggestion is call a qualified plumber ASAP and explain what you observe.
Plumber will want to inspect the vent pipes, and may want to extend water heater vent pipe up further inside chimney so furnace is not pushing air back into water heater vent.
Plumber may also find blockage somewhere in the vent stack or chimney.
Also post on a professional water heater forum like the Tank to double check anything the plumber says to you. These are the pros.

I would like to buy the foam for the ducts?

You can purchase the insulation from a local A/C supply house or contractor. They will need to know the size of the pipe (OD diameter). The insulation that is exposed to sunlight can be protected (life extended) by loosely wrapping some duct tape around the pipe to shield it from the UV rays.

Can the RC1000 be extended?

I think a swift visit to somewhere like Ebay will show there are differing lengths of shutter release available. Just be a bit wary of where they are shipped from.

Takes to long to dry but does get warm

If the airflow is restricted on the intake or exhaust you'll have extended drying times.
Be sure to check the lint filter every time you use your dryer. I know this is obvious but you'd be surprised how many people overlook this and run into bigger problems.
More importantly, disconnect the dryer and slide it forward and then disconnect the 4" exhaust duct from the back of the dryer. Visually inspect the exhaust outlet AND the duct for blockage. Even if it's partially blocked it will cause extended drying times.
Clean out as much as you can. You may need to separate the ductwork to get at all the blockage, but it will be well worth it.
If your ducting is fairly straight, a "Webster" duster (looks like a chimney brush on a telescoping pole) will get the job done.
Run the dryer briefly with the duct unhooked to blow any buildup from the dryer. Then reconnect and blow the rest of the ductwork by running a short cycle with no clothes in the dryer.
You most likely will find better drying times.

No instructions nor fixings with cooker hood. How do we attatch it? How do we get hold of fixings as staff at wicks were useless. Cookerhood EFC90950X zanussi

you will have to place a straight edge on the top on the hood near the exhaust pipe then mesure from the floor to the bottom of the straight edge, that will give you depth then here is the demisons you have to build the box in. And if you don't have the power there you need to get a contrator or do it yourselfer to install it four you.
