Tip

Becoming more efficient with your heating and cooling

Here are some ways to become more efficient with your heating and cooling. Obviously you do not have to do them in order but try to complete as many as you can! = )
· Buy a laser thermometer! You can use this to detect air leaks (or at least areas with “minor” temperature differences) so you know where to put seals
· Keep blinds shut on hot days and open on cold days----helps reduce temperature extremities
· If the temperature is can be negated by using a t-shirt or a jacket, use that clothing! You will save temperature control costs and still be able to keep warm or cool
· Do not use those old lightbulbs on hot days---they make extra heat increasing cooling bills (but you can use them on cold days to help warm your house)
· Utilize energy star products to increase efficiency comfortably
· Set your thermostat as low as is comfortable in the winter and as high as is comfortable in the summer.
· If you are on vacation, turn of that air conditioning/heating! No one will be in the house if everyone is away and it shouldn’t be too uncomfortable to wait like one hour for the house to cool/heat
· Don’t turn your thermostat up/down just to heat/cool faster---all temperature control changes the house temp at the same rate and if you forget to turn it off, you just wasted some energy there!
· Don’t block heating/cooling vents so that your rooms can be controlled quickly and so that your air actually gets controlled, not your furniture
· Check up your air conditioning and heating systems regularly (not once a month but maybe once every year) so that the systems stay running the best they can

Outside a steamroom we have a temperature control panel which displays temperature and set point. It goes into alarm if room overtemps and cuts off power to heating elements untill reset by a micro switch....

If you can isolate the room around refrigerator I can help. Room around refrigerator must be normal household temperatures. Separate power to refrigerators 20 amp. breaker and away from heated area. Thanks, Sea Breeze

No heat 2006 f150 5.4 liter i changed thermostat ,still no heat

Is there no heat even with the temperature set to max ? There is a TSB ( TSB 08-23-6 ) where when the temperature is set between 68-72* F, EATC ( Electronic Automatic Temperature Control ) has intermittent operation. The same TSB covers inability to control temperature output on the EMTC ( Electronic Manual Temperature Control ) HVAC controls. There is a new temperature blend door actuator ( p/n : 9L3Z-19E616-E ) to cure the problem, if these symptoms match the ones you are having.

The temperature control on the right front burner does not work. It is either full heat or no heat

The burner control infinite switch is not working. You can replace it. Turn off breaker first and put in the new switch you buy from an appliance shop.

Can you set temperature on Ryobi CPS-2000k?

I think Bosch have one that you can set the temp to , i have had many heat guns over the years and the two best ones are Wagner And Bosch i have bought cheaper models like ryobi before and they just dont last , with regards to a heat setting i wouldnt worry too much because unless you can maintain the exact distance between yourself and the object while heating it then you cant maintain an exact temperature on the object you are trying to heat up , you would have to put the heat gun in a clamp and put the object at a certain distance away from it to guarantee a certain amount of heat . hope this will help you and i would probably not listen too much to the salesman

No heat generated by Soleus HGW-308 Mid-Size Heater

If you can hear a "click" when you turn the temperature knob, and the unit is plugged in, chances are the heating has failed.

If you have a multimeter, unplug the unit from the wall.

Put the meter on R x 1000 ohms, and put the meter probes on each of the plug blades. Rotate the temperature control through it's range. You should have just a few ohms when the control has clicked (you really don't care at this point), as you turn the temperature control to a hotter temperature. You should have no ohms when turning the other way (this all assumes you are in a typical room temperature environment.).

If no reading is obtained, either the element has failed, the temperature control has failed, the "tip-over" switch has failed, there is a burned terminal in the wiring, or sometimes a heat fuse fails.

If it's the element or temperature control, it's probably best just to buy a new heater. The other three are identify and replace.

I cant' get the temperature control knob on the console to turn to heat -

this usually indicates there may something wrong with the heater control head itself or an actuator has jammed, or gear teeth broken. depending on if its a cable or vacuum operated system
