-   unfortunately, i was told by a verizon rep, a week ago, that my
fone is now unrepairable and since it was no longer under warranty, there wasn't anything that they could do. i bought the
fone from them in july 2007. i first became aware that something was amiss when i noticed the flash on the camera was remaining on continuously. the
fone would again operate after i managed to turn it off by going into the "my pix" app (hit the side button which operates the camera); i think that i had to take a picture to turn it off. this might help you initially as well, but you should probably take it in if you haven't already. i was able to use it with no real problems for a few weeks after that, then it periodically would do the same erratic behavior before it finally died (wouldn't stay powered up). by then it was too late to do anything. the screen acted like a computer monitor gone bad. the rep thought that it may have been due to water damage initially, but after inspecting it to not be the case, then felt that it may have gotten fried by the new adapter accessory with
connectors that i bought from radio shack to use as an alternative to my oem adapter. who knows; i just think that the
fone, if it isn't fixable, is a piece of **** and i should have, at least, been given a discount for a new
fone because of that fact, since i bought it from verizon. i instead have gotten a no-longer-used
fone (vx3200) from a friend and have transferred my unused prepay minutes over. even though it doesn't have a camera, i actually like the features much better on this one, as did my friend who gave it to me. the voice clarity seems clearer and the menus seem more navigable. hope you have better luck than i did.
