Maybe change the imagesize in settings. It is probably on 3/4 size. Change it to 16/9. Look in the settings on the divice connected, and on the tv.

How do I get the dvd movies to fill the whole screen. The sides are empty and the picture is squeezed into the middle.

You need to change the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9. This is usually done in the application that is used to view the DVD. Check the menu for video options. (Not the DVD movie menu, the application's menu).

CAN I CONNECT MY CD /VCR RECORDER TO MY HDM2 ON MY NEW TV? MY RECORDER DOES NT HAVE A HDM CONNECTION.

HDMI connections are fully digital interfaces. If your recorder does does not have a DVI-D or HDMI output, then you will be unable to connect to an HDMI input on the television

HOW CAN I CONNECT MY RECORDER TO MY TV HDM2 PORT IF MY RECORDER DOES NOT HAVE A HDM CONNECTION ?

Hi,

If your recorder has composite video out ports (red, yellow, white) you can get a composite to HDMI adapter to make the connection.

Here is a link to an adapter from Amazon, but they are available at other stores:

Change TV resolutions to view slide shows

Nope. The picture resolution has to be 1080 to fill the screen completely. Using stretch and zoom will distort the low rez pictures. No option to change resolution on the TV itself.

My Tv screen dosen't fill the whole srceen

Just on a movie or even watching tv???? If you have the original remote, usually there is a ratio button on it you can push......If theres not, go into the menu and go under video and look for the different ratio (size) of the picture and try one of them......If you still can't figure it out and dont have your manual, you can always "google" your tv and model number and download or at least look at the manual online.....good luck....

Why my regular dvd player with widescreen movies does not fill my hd tv ?

ok, There are 2 aspect ratio's for tv/movies. Widescreen Standard
If you have a Widescreen TV, Widescreen formatted dvd's will fill the hole screen, Standard formatted dvd's will not fill the whole screen
if you have a Standard TV, Standard formatted dvd's will fill the whole screen, Widescreen formatted dvd's will not fill the whole screen
this is normal, check to see the format of the dvd you are trying to use.

Hi there, with my toshiba 27A33 television ,the picture comes in on both sides about 2 inchs

First thing to check: could it be aspect ratio - source material is old standard 4x3 format, TV is widescreen 16x9, so it only fills center? If so, the images will look properly proportioned - circles round (not ellipses), people neither unduly fat nor skinny.
Second: if the shapes are wrong, it could be settings on source device (check DVD menu, cable/satellite set-up) and/or TV (choices like letterbox, pan and scan, stretch to fill screen, etc.)
Third: if CRT TV, could be defect in horizontal sweep circuitry, requiring repair shop; decide whether the cost is worth it, vs new TV.

Good luck!

There should be controls for height and linearity. They may be labeled as Vertical, Hold or Size.

Hope this helps. :)
