Also, check your circuit breaker to make sure that has not tripped.

Check the fuse in the plug first.

If it is a good fuse, then you need to call an engineer as the problem is likely on the circuit boards inside.

There may also be a reset switch somewhere on the casing that trips if the dryer has got too hot. You just need to press it until it clicks to reset it.

SOURCE: We just purchased a top load Kenmore 800 washer

The first thing seems to be the timer,or the water level switch. Try filling the washer with water by hand, if it starts to agitate after being filled its the timer, if not it is the water level switch, let me know if you need further assistance.

SOURCE: GE WSSH300G0WW front load washer

Had same problem with GE wssh300 front load washer. Removed two screws from front bottom panel (under washer front). Pulled off panel, loosened screw from a seal ring on the rubber flex hose going to a 4" square plastic housing. Reached down inside and found a ton of lint (probaby a 2" balls worth) jamming outlet. Removed lint an works geat. Very easy to do by tilting front of washer up and putting supports under front to keep elevated. Be careful to make sure supports are sturdy washer can't dop when servicing.

Washer won't turn on unless dryer is on

I assume you have a gas dryer, as a washing machine runs on 110 Amps while an electric dryer uses a higher 220 Amps. If both the washer and the dryer cords are plugged into the same socket, and the washer only runs while the dryer is on, the socket is not wired properly. You may check this easily enough by switching the washer cord to the one presently utilized by the dryer. If the washer runs, then look at the wiring.

check your breaker to the appliance you must have 220 volts before it will heat if you only have 110 volts it will run but not heat otherwise it could be a thermostat or heating element which is hard to say with out me being there to check it out with a meter

Slim-Twin washer does not start

I've been researching this model a little bit, I think there are 2 fuses inside, but I dont know where. If I have to take mine apart, I'll let you know.. Did the machine ever run, or did you just get it. Is there 2 cords to your machine a 220 cord and a 110 cord, or does the washer just run off the 220, but your washer doesn't work, so you dont really know, but if it has two cords, could you let me know, so I can find the end of mine ha..thanks chuck

I had the same problem, take the easy rout first and check for obstructions in your venting. Mine was clogged and it shut itself down (to protect itself?)
