SOURCE: green and orange lights flashing, sign saying

Hi You can Try 2 things.

There is some foreign object blocking your cartridges carriage that disables it from moving. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Next try.

It may be a piece of paper or a scotch tape or a staple wire.
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Please find above, a service manual, for a similar model, however this has the same troubleshooting steps to perform to sort out your problem. If there is NO LED's NO sign of life at all at power On, then probably your PSU, has gone faulty, or you have a fault, bad enough to shut down the PSU. The troubleshooting steps should help you sort your issue.

E system 1212 Laptop won't switch on. Power

Laptops are so integrated that usually a system failure that involves power issues such as in your case where you cant get it turn on with anything on the screen mean the mainboard (motherboard) is damaged. This usually leads to buying a new laptop or paying for the board to be replaced which usually costs as much as the laptop.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?

I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.

Start up light flashes once and it won't power on

Most probable cause is the power supply. Look at the back of the computer, check the voltage settings located near the power cord. This will be the small red tab indicating two different settings, If your in the US it should be set to 115. Also, the power supply should run the internal fan when it is turned on.

To test the power supply try this:

Open your computer case and locate the gray box that is the power supply unit. Trace the wires from the power supply to the boards and devices and disconnect all the cables by unplugging them.

Find the big connector plugged on the the motherboard, make sure it is disconnected and short the two pins: (GREEN & BLACK) Short green pin (14) to GND (any black) to switch power supply ON, disconnect green from GND to switch OFF.

This will switch the power supply, you should hear or see the fan in the power supply spin. If you do not see the fan spinning, and your sure you have shorted the correct wires, you have a faulty power supply. If you see the fan spinning, you can now test the voltage coming out of the power supply.

Place a volt meter on the following colors to test voltage:

The color code for the wires is: Red = +5V, Black = Ground (0V), White = -5V, Yellow = +12V, Blue = -12V, Orange = +3.3V, Purple = +5V Standby (not used), Gray = power is on (output), and Green = Turn DC on (input).

WILL NOT POWER ON

Good day. Here are some tips on how to troubleshoot the problem:
1. Check for physical connection first. Check if the power cord doesn't have any physical defects.
2. Make sure the printer is plugged in to a known working
power outlet.
3. Unplug the power supply from the printer(it's the black box
where the power cord is plugged in behind the printer). It may be
hard but it can be removed. Leave the power cord plugged in it and
the other end to the power outlet in the wall. Check the LED around the silver contacts of the power supply. It should be on and green. If that's on, power supply is ok.
4. Plug back the power supply in the printer. Make sure it's
plugged in the right position. It may seem to be plugged in already
but the position is incorrect. Double-check.
5. If you have double-checked already that the power supply is
plugged in correctly 100%, then it should power on.
6. If not, try pressing the power button of the printer.
Hope one these steps fixes the problem. Good luck!

Power supply or motherboard problem?

Hi talissap,

The blinking light is telling you something about the PSU. First check any AC mains voltage select switches for proper setting. US should be 115. Second if you have a multimeter, you could test the PSU for voltage. Disconnect all power to all components. remove all components from the board including cpu, memory . Leave the PSU only plugged into the board. Press power. If the fan turns on then it's not the power supply. The brand power supply isn't the best, I've seen where you need to wait for 5-20 minutes for the blinking to stop, at which time it will fire up. Now, if it doesn't power up, then it's most likely the PSU.

Good Luck,

Mark

Computer will not power on

Regarding the blinking green light on power supply for hp a430n...I've had that happen as well when the computer is turned off for an extended period of time. It would not immediatly power up when plugged in to power. Hitting it and beating on the button didn't help either.

However, after calming down, I noticed that when I unplugged the computer that the light continues to blink, but gradually fades and goes out. So, I thought that since power supply holds a charge after being disconnected as can other components inside a computer that I would assume the converse: It needs to power up to "full charge" as well. In my case, I was right.

All I did was plug the computer in and leave it alone for about 20 to 30 minutes, go sit and cuss for a while. When I came back and checked it after that time, the front panel blue light was on and the green light on the power supply was glowing steady. The computer started right up! Thank goodness...stopped cussing.

If it hadn't, and I had tried all the resets listed above, I would have bought a new power supply too...but not this time!

Flashing "F" on front of drive slot

The front panel display contains seven (7) lights which provide the following information: ? Power-On - Steady green glow indicates that power is being supplied to the Data Silo chassis. ? Temperature Warning - Flashing red indicates that internal operating temperature has reached 43? C (109° F). ? Blower 1 or 2 Failure - Flashing red indicates a blower has failed. ? Power Supply 2 Failure - Flashing red indicates second power supply has failed. ? Power Supply 1 Failure - Flashing red indicates first power supply has failed. ? Mute - When switch is depressed, a steady yellow glow indicates the audible warning sounds have been disabled. Depress switch again to enable sounds. ? Reset - Depress switch to reset chassis and clear any error conditions. The specs on the DS550 do not say anything about an F at all? Did you put the correct model number?
