I have a Samsung DLP TV, 50" screen, that seems to have a problem with projection. There is a noticeable trapezoidal distortion of the image, and the very bottom of the screen is cut off, no matter how much I adjust the position of the screen via the picture menu. Also, near the top there is a noticeable curvature of lines that should be straight horizontally. Is there something I can adjust to fix these image problems? Tnx.

Hi, It seems color wheel problem in your tv that gets problem after some time and you hear high pitch noise along with picture flicker. Color wheel need to be replaced to solve this issue. Required color wheel is available with PartStore.com (click to view image of part and price info) and it is job of qualified tv repairman because light engine will take apart for that. Hope these info will help you. Thanks.
Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, picture will freeze, color distortion or white dots on screens.I couldn't find the Dmd by itself but found it with the complete light engine http://www.discount-merchant.com/SAMSUNG-BP41-00119E-p/1171034.htm?Click=48173 Here's a video that will help you find where the DMd chip is located : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q Have a blessed one!
When these colors show up if you can still see the on screen menus with no issues then more than not your digital board is bad. If they are not visible and are distorted as well then the DMD board is bad. Either way both are technician replacement items as the set requires alignment after either one is replaced.
No they couldn't have replaced everything or did they Replace Light Engine? Because that is what is Bad on your TV if under warranty get it Fixed Now Light Engine is very COSTLY !!!!!!!!
