Question about LG Washing Machines
De = door error
It might just be a malfunction. If the code appears mid-cycle or at the end of the cycle, power off the washer and unplug it. Wait for five minutes before plugging it back in. Power it on and see if the door latch releases. If it doesn't, service will be required.
An item may be caught in the door. Unplug the washer and wait five minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on. If the door still doesn't unlock, the item could be pushing on the door and preventing the latch from unlocking. Service may be required.
Is the door or gasket damaged in any way? That may prevent your washer from latching or locking, resulting in a DE error code. Check your warranty policy to determine coverage under the manufacturer's warranty.

Check the owners handbook if you have it. If not go online to the main LG website find manuals and download one. Have your model and serial number ready, these are on a sticker on the back.

SOURCE: LG Washer dryer error dE
Unplug the machine.
Plug back in (maybe 10 seconds later).
Mine had several dE messages. Unpluged, waited 10 seconds, when pluged back in, it remembered which cycle and parameters I had it on, then locked the door and continued with no problem.

You can bypass the switch by jambing something in there and this will allow it to spin with the lid open or closed but please keep the lid closed at all times while washing.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
'de' stands for Door Error. There is likely to be a problem with either the door solenoid/lock or the 'door closed' sensor. Both require a service engineer's attention I suggest ;-0(
If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

SOURCE: I have a LG topload
dE stands for Door open Error. Your door is not closed properly or the door switch is not activated. Try to press the door firmly. If the error does not go then you will have to check the door latch, notch ( a protruding part which goes inside to latch & activate door switch) & the door switch for any damage. For Top load machines the notch is near the hinges & inside the machine.
