Question about Motorola Mobility Moto X Black 16 GB Smartphone - Verizon Wireless 1.7 GHz Dual-Core Processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB Internal Storage, Android 4.2, 4G, 10 MP Camera
The phone is locked and activation process tells me to take the phone to Verizon. I've tried holding volume down when booting but no matter what option I choose, it keeps taking me to activation screen, how do I get around this lock because I want unlock it from Verizon totally.

You can't. Verizon phone's can't be unlocked to work on other providers.
You can get a Verizon Sim though and insert it to get to home screen and then swap Sims.
