I hit the power button today to turn it on & got shocked by static electricity, now the printer won't come on. The computer recognizes the printer, so I know it's not the printer/computer cord. Thanks for any help you can offer.

The manuals, online guide and trouble shooting sections could help you resolve your problem. Contact support has a chat facility on some pages that may help.

Click this Link

Under Select a Product Range
Choose Multifunction Printersprinter won't turn on - 4.gif on the webpage1.gif
Under Select a Product
Choose Stylus CX5400 on the webpage
Under Select an OS
Choose the operating system1.gif on the machine where you will install the printer on the webpage
Click Confirm Selection

The manuals and documentation link will allow you to download manuals that were on your CD ROM

you may want to bookmark the online guide, if present, to help with future problems -- that probably was not on the CD

Click the back button on the browser

click the Drivers and Software Link

This allows you to download software files that were probably on your installation CD

Click the back button on the browser again

Trouble Shooting and Contact Support could be an interesting link in the future too when and if you have problems.

I hope this helps

My gateway profile 5 won't turn on. Checked plugs

Try to power drain it. Unplug all the power related devices that are connected, like a monitor data cable or external printer, just unplug all the cables in the back after you shut down your computer, press the power switch of your computer and keep it pressed for about 45 secs, release it, plug everything back and check it if its working. As well double check if that particular socket is usable, plug something else in to see if its working.

Try power cycling both devices.
  • Completely shut down the computer.
  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power chord at the back of the printer.
  • Turn on the computer.
  • Plug the power cable back in.
  • Turn on the printer.
If your still having issues w/ it. contact your manufacturer.
Good Luck :)
