some batteries build up memmories after a while if you hav,nt been taking the all the way done to empty the charge out and so it thinks its at the bottom each time its charged eventully building up to the top so now it thinks its fully charged after only a few percent
you may have to get another battery, and it may not be wanned because you caused the build up
I have heard of some people putting them in the freezer and draining the charge back down
but that mite be an old wifes tail
If the laptop is still working when it is plugged in , then the ac adapter is good and the battery is just bad. If the laptop will not work when it is plugged in then more than likely the ac adapter is bad.
Well, this is happening to another laptop i know. if you remove the battery and order a new one and replace it it should work. Its probably just a dodgy battery. While you have the battery out, you will need to use the power cable all the time. This just happens to some batteries. Thats just my advice anyway.
PS: I am only 99.9% sure this is the right thing to do. I would check at a computer repair place too or battery world.
Try to format your phone, use the following steps.
