Question about GE Washing Machines
Hi, i have GE washer model GFWN1000L1WW, that keeps getting stuck in the wash cycle around the 20 something minute. It front loaded drum doesn't move and you can hear the machine humming and clicking once in a while. The door unlocks and the start button just starts blinking. Can't drain the water because can't get past this cycle. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Humming is usually the result of bad motor windings , are u saying it washes for 20 minutes or just stays on that cycle without doing any washing? a non moving drum can be a bad motor coupler or belt if belt driven.

Testimonial: "Hi, the drum does turn and takes in the water after it measures the load, it then washes for about 15 minutes, at which point stops as if to let water drain and simply gets stuck there humming very low; then unlocks the door and start button starts blinking. From other posts I read I suspect to be the water pump, especially knowing the washer was in unheated yet piped room where temps got below freezing. Any thoughts? If I'm right, how do I access the pump? Thanks again"

SOURCE: front load GE wont spin or wash
I can't find your models breakdown but it sound like a bad motor. if it drains and fills you have a good pump. if you had just a bad motor control if mostly would agitate. If the motor hums then you are getting power to it.. if you have no hum you can check for power with a meter.. if no power you have a bad control.. if you have power you have a bad motor... let me know what yo find out.. krazytech

I removed the three screws, and lower cover cleaned the few pennies, screws and nasty gunk build up from the filter. The wash machine seems to function as it did prior to the clogged issue. Thank you everyone !!!

Check the cold water hose. My brand new machine had this behavior until I discovered a kink in the cold water hose - works great now.
