1st make sure battery is fully charged.
Next, wash the filter, just follow the instructions in the manual.
If the filter is clogged the motor will try to run but then cut out to protect the motor from damage.

My Dyson DC35 stops after the first minute. Then it keeps stopping every few seconds. I checked for obstructions, washed the filter and cleaned the brush. Is it the batterie?

In the inlet pipe, there is a small valve that can get jammed shut with debris this causes them to pulse start, stop, start, stop, and so on. Ensure this is floating free, not jammed shut, it works purely on gravity... The other possibility is the cyclone needs cleaning. Remove the filter and check no dirt is lodged there. Remove the top torx screws and keep them safe. Carefully remove the top check for damaged seals gaskets etc (this can cause a malfunction). Again keep safe. The cyclone can then be inspected for dirt and dust clogging holes and airways. Clean thoroughly and reassemble, make sure all components are dry if they have been washed to clean them. Hopefully, this will restore the machine to working order

DC35 vac keeps cutting out when I pull the trigger go for a minute and quits?

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your Dyson cleaner is pulsating off and on. First, it maybe due to a battery of the cleaner. Make sure that the power cable is properly plug to the power and seated properly from the unit while charging. If you find that the battery isn't charging at all, you may need to replace the battery. Second is to check the MAX button of your cleaner. If the button lights up and flashes when your Dyson keeps on pulsating, press and hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off the function. You may need to do it for a few times to get the hang of it. Third is to check for any blockages or clogs in the attachments. Look down through the tube and check to see if there are clogs on the sweeper end or if the roller is tangled up in fibers. Clean the roller brush are if it it's necessary. You may need to empty the dust bin of your unit as debris can build up in hard to reach places. Lastly, cleaning the filters may fix the pulsating of your cleaner. Remove the filter and rinse it with cold water and air dry it for 12 hours. Don't use detergent when washing your filters. If the pulsating doesn't go with the given quick fix, I suggest to contact Dyson for further assistance on this.

When I engage the power switch on my Dyson DC35 Animal I have to use a lot of pressure and it starts but turns off within a few seconds.

I would verify that the battery connections are clean on both the battery and the vacuum itself. IF it pulses on and off , before going off, it has a clog. Make sure the Filter is clean as well as the inside of the power unit where it connects to the wand extension. Pull it apart and make sure no debris is there. This almost sound like you may have a bad switch in the handle. If the unit is under warranty , get is fixed. Sorry , looks like you can not just buy a switch.

Loss of suction and sounds like motor is juddering after a few seconds use

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

A pulsating sound from the motor, along with a loss of pick-up performance, will be due to a blockage somewhere in the machine - in the cleaner head, in the wand, or in the bin inlet. For help checking for this and removing any obstructions, please take a look at our online Support guide:

You may also want to take a look at the video below for guidance on removing any threads, hair or other obstructions from the brush bar and cleaner head.
I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but for any further assistance please give our Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).
