Good Morning friend, thank you for your inquiry!

From what you have described your Frigidaire range is displaying an "F31" error code. An "F31" stands for a shorted probe connection. This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector), EOC (Electronic Oven Control), or wiring harness. I would recommend performing a reset on your range to help clear out any false error codes. In order to reset your range you need to disconnect power from it for roughly ten minutes. If this does not help resolve your issue and you continue to receive the error code you may need to have a professional out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

Turn on over and get F31.

Hello, Janice -

There are many ovens in use today. It will help to know the make and model of your oven. You can add that information by choosing Comment and typing in the make and model of your oven

If yours is a Kenmore brand oven, the F31 error code means that the oven temperature probe has shorted out or there is a shorted sensor probe harness connection.

I hope you have the owner's manual for your oven. The F31 error code will probably be described in the manual.

Best wishes.

Good Afternoon friend, thanks for your post!

Based off the information you have been able to provide an "F31" error code stands for a shorted probe connection. Typically this means you could have issue with the RTD (resistance temperature detector) sensor probe or the wiring harness between your control panel and probe connector. Since it could be any one of these under lying issues I would recommend a professional come out and properly repair your appliance. Hope this helps. -Matt

The F30 error code means the temperature sensor probe is open. First check the wiring, then check the probe. And if necessary, switch to a meat thermometer instead of a sensor probe. F31 is the error for a shorted temperature sensor probe.
