Try replacing the belt. It may be broken or stretched

The turbo tool for pet hair on my Hoover power vac doesn't rotate. I removed the brush and cleaned but still doesn't work. Suction is fine without the tool attached.

Have you checked the drive belt on the pet head? Mine comes apart and a thin belt is driven by the propellers which in turn drive the brush head via the drive belt. To check turn propeller and see if brush head rotates if not belt missing broken / jammed

Where is the belt located on my hoover steam shampoer

There is probably not a belt. The brushes on the carpet cleaner head and attachments work from air and there is a roller bearing deep inside that will wear out and the brushes won't turn. I've found no way to fix this. I consider it a design defect.

I have a new Hoover vacuum the one designed for pets...and it constantly is throwing dust out when I vacuum...I can't seem to get the hose unplugged...how do I do this?

First, complete detach the hose from the machine. Drop a small coin through the hose to ensure that's where the clog is. If the coin doesn't go through, connect wrong end of hose to the intake and turn vacuum on. This should loosen the clog and possibly clear it completely. If not use an air hose or shop vacuum exhaust to blow the clog out. Borrow one if necessary.
Check inside intake for a clog between hole and filter. If it's clear, check the tube in the power head. Because of the bend there, it's a good (bad?) spot for clogs. This can usually be cleared by using the hose with a nozzle to vacuum it out. Or try needle nose pliers to grasp and pull out.

take the vacuum head off the end of the tube , turn the machine and place your hand over the end of the tube
if it sucks your hand onto the tube , the machine is working as a vacuum machine
then check fro a blockage in the elbow section near the head
if there is no vacuum , junk it and get a new one

I have a Hoover Turbo EmPower 4600 and the roller will not turn when we turn on the vacuum. The vacuum is fairly new, and hasn't seen too much use, but now the roller won't turn, so it's not picking...

The beater belt is broken. There are 4 phillips head screws on the outside (2 on top of the base on either side of the upright, and 2 on the front edge on the underside of the base near front edge). and 4 phillips head screws on the inside (holding the guard cover over the beater bar). The belt is about $3 (part number 38528040). Take out the beater bar and put the new belt around it. Then put the other end around the metal bar and stretch the belt taut as you position the beater bar back into its channel slots. Replace the guard and top cover and you should be good to go...

Trying to fix new belt to Hoover Turbo Power vacuum cleaner. Don't see how the belt becomes taut. Fitting it around the roller, there is nowhere to fit the belt to, it just sits loose.

I looked at the user instructions guide online and saw where the 'other end' of the belt should be fitted. It was extremely hard to fit but eventually managed it. Thanks for this solution site. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.
