Many old saw had to be split in the middle and then you could service the recoil if it is that OLD as you say retire it permanently

Unfortunately a lot of OLD saws no longer have parts available. There are several internet companies out there that specialize in dismantling and selling parts for old saws....but their inventory is only as good as the old saws they are able to come up with. Sometimes they buy out old repair shops inventory and have NOS parts for some saws.

Try www.chainsawr.com and use their search information to get a toe hold on just what your saw is. They also allow you to contact them for assistance. I've not done it, but there is a chance they'd be able to identify it with a smart phone pic attached to the email to them.

How do I replace my defrost timmer in my Hotpoint CSXGR part#WR9X489. Thank You Kevin H.

Hello Kevin,

Usually the defrost timer fit into the control panel housing where the thermostat is (upper back wall of fresh food section) remove covering by removing t-stat knob and 1/4" headed screw of left side of cover.pull off cover. Timer is to the right of t-stat,by removing screw that holds timer and pulling out tabs on the metal housing there is whole lot easier that removing that housing

Good luck

I hope this helps,if it does please give me a 4 thumbs up rating

353 husqvarna chainsaw, floods during start process

Husqvarna says the initial carburetor needle valve settings are from lightly seated 1 turn CCW for both H & L.

Your Operator's Manual can be downloaded here:
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/HOUS/HOUS2004/HOUS2004_1140204-95.pdf
Once flooded Huskys are very hard to start. This works well on my 359.
Start Procedure
Cold:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close - sets fast idle) pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls)
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts. (usually the next pull)
Warm:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close - sets fast idle) choke, - Don’t pull with choke closed.
  4. Push (open - fast idle maintained) choke, pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)
Hope this helps

I need to change my temp control switch, it is a GE profile Mdl# TBX22PAYERWW. How do I get to it What do I have to take off to see it?

Unplug the refrig . Remove the plastic control cover in refrig section . You will see the t-stat shaft . There will be a small panel , with 2 slots , which you need to bend slightly , to pull the mounting plate (bend slightly) foreward . Remove the 2 screws holding the old t-stat and follow the cap tube ( small tube coming from the t-stat) Remove it . Install the new t-stat Pt # WR9X559 , being sure to place the new cap tube where the old one was . Push the mounting bracket back into the slotted plate . Plug refrig back in .

Click the green "GO" to the right of View the illustrated parts list.
The starter cover is item 31 on the "Handle, Chassis, and Bar Assembly" drawing. It is green not red

Thermostat replacement in 1985. Need diagram or very explicit intructions.

The thermostat housing is on the left side of the engine at the front, bolted to the side of the block with two bolts - top and bottom of the housing. Obviously, before starting, let engine cool and release pressure from system, drain out coolant (about half) so little is lost when stat housing removed. If coolant is old, this is a good time to replace it. When replacing the stat, get a SAAB stat, as it's a three stage stat, not a two stage (open and closed) as are most after market stats. If you car runs hot in traffic or hot days, consider the low temp stat (and rad fan thermo switch also) to extend engine life. Tighten the bolts to 13 ft-lb. Refill and bleed out any air. Hope this helps, give a "thumbs up" if it does; thanks Saabreur

Black Marks on Clothes Coming out of the Dryer

Follow-up the Nov 28 post: Just got my replacement dryer after many phone calls to LG. The installer told me that the black marks were from using dryer sheets. He said the ozone system in the dryer breaks down the chemicals in the dryer sheets. Doesn't explain why the problem seems to be fixed when roller and drum is replaced then returns after about 2-3 months.
