Re: how to back up music library

Plug in your Mp3 player
Double-click My Computer
Double click the icon corresponding to your iRiver
Double click the music folder
Right click the desktop, select "new," and select "folder" - create a folder named "Temporary iRiver Backup" (or whatever name you want to give to the folder)
Start dragging files from "My Computer" window to "temporary IRiver backup" window

There are other ways, but this is one good way.

I want to learn how to download music to my iriver spinn

You can use Itunes sofware or windows media player software.
But itunes is more user friendly.
Just import everything to the library of itunes .
Then connect your mp3 player then click on it then select synchronise.

Iriver x20 - freezes and wont show as a connected device to pc

When you connect the PMP to the computer does it say your new device is ready for use or something else like 'the device has malfunctioned'?

I have the same issue that frequently the computer won't see the PMP. Keep trying it sometimes works. If not then its likely that the harddisk is dead or dying.

IRiver X20 won't boot

first try to go through the iriver plus program and see if there's any tools that can help. or reformat through your computer!
try copying the system files onto something then delete all your media files usually the library is just too big....
i had this problem once and i removed the battery as it was loading and the next time i booted it, it worked =). (this is worst case scenario though, you might end up screwing up the battery)

Iriver H10 20GB - i can't access my music through Artists or Albums

Have you tired doing a "Database Refresh". It's located on the main screen under "Settings". Go to Database Refresh and check "Yes". How much music you have on your player will determine how long the refresh will take. If that doesn't work possibly run the Firmware Updater from iRivers' web site and only update the database, do not do a complete "Recovery" or all of your music will be erased as that choice reformats your hard drive. Only choose "Update Firmware"

Formating problems

The H140 needs to be formatted as a fat32 file system for the players firmware to recognise it. To check which file system you have formatted to connect your player to your pc and go to > my computer >right click on your player > then click on properties. It will tell you what file system you have. Windows will only format to ntfs file systems, so if you need to reformat you will need to download Swissknife (its free :-) )and use it to reformat your player.
