Adjusting the tickover and mixture

The carb is factory set you need to remove carb you will then see two screws one marked L and the other H with a small hacksaw cut a slot across both screws don't worry about cutting into carb body this can't be helped screw both screws fully in then back them off 1 and 1/4 turns this rough sets high and low running start saw set low speed first adjust screw in or out to get best low running then rev saw to max.and adjust max revs do the same as you did with the low speed screw to obtain max revs this should solve your problem.

42cc 18 inch craftsman chainsaw model 358-351910-18. Saw runs great at idle or while not cutting wood, when starting to cut wood just after the entire bar gets into the wood engine bogs down and chain...

Generally this is a fuel / air ratio problem. Usually it can be solved by a carb adjustment. On the carb there are usually two screws, one marked low or L , the other marked high or H. Low is your adjustment for idle mixture, high is for mixture at full throttle. The saw should Always be adjusted to run well during the cut. Make adjustments a little at a time, then try The saw. Continue small adjustments untill the saw is performing well at full throttle while Cutting.

I have a Poulan (18"

IN SOME MODELS THERE IS 2 SCREWS NEAR THE CARB.THE SMALL ONE IS FOR LOW REVS AND THE BIGGER IS FOR HIGH.START THE MACHINE AND PLAY AROUND WITH THE SMALL ONE UNTIL YOU GET THE RIGHT LOW REVS,LEAVE THE HIGH AS IT.

I ALSO SUGGEST TO DO A TUNE UP.

If you need more help post back!

I have a husqvarna k750 sawing stone stawls under load whats wrong?

If the motor revs up ok it might be the type of disc you are using. I used a huge 2000 Sten one time from about 1961 going through rebar cemented inside cinder block wall to make some windows. It used the huge 18 inch discs and the older guy that was my boss said there is two types of discs - one is tar bonded abbrasives and the other is resin based which is three times better cutting and doesn't smoke up your lungs while you are breathing hard. They are usually dull red with no black in the grit if you look right up close. If the motor stalls or has a cutting out noise at high rev without load it may just be a dust covered gas filter which is deep inside the saw's gas tank on the end of a rubber tube.

The chain saw runs okay until i start to cut wood on higher revs then it cuts ouy

Does it run O.K. with high revs. with no load, but dies when you start to cut (load) ? If that is the case your carb. needs to be adjusted and that is difficult to put into words. Without knowing what make of carb you have because they can change from year to year, and also depends on the model. Without knowing make of carb I suggest you try to turn the L (low) and H (high) needles in (clockwise) until they are lightly seated so you don't damage the needle or seat. Now turn them both out (counterclockwise) one turn as a start. Start your saw to let it warm up now rev it up it should not hesitate or run rough while reving up. If it does turn low needle out 1/4 turn or more if needed until it does not hesitate. (turning any needle out will let in more gas turning in less gas) If you get this far good idling and reving up, now adjust high needle the same way. With high needle you can also try turning it in. keep on adjusting needles in or out in small increments until it runs right. If you cannot get it running right after all this, you probably need a carb overhaul, just a cleaning or carb kit if diaphrams are stiff or damaged. I hope this helps you. Please forgive grammar errors. Let me know how you made out.

I have a 2003 ktm 250sx and when shifting at high rpm's it won't shift.

How is your clutch? Does it slip or drag when starting out? When you put it into 1st gear when starting out does the bike lunge forward? Hold it in first gear with the clutch in and rev the bike up. See if the bike wants to move forward with the clutch in.It sounds to me like your clutch isn't set right or getting worn out. Much easier to shift at low rpms on a clutch than high rpms. I hope this helps...

unlikely. If u don't work on your bike the best thing u can do is take it back to whoever did the plugs and tell them to fix it.

When driving (auto) in 2nd gear car jurks

If the transmission fluid was VERY low, the damage may already be done. I know on alot of Rav-4's, there is a computer problem, that causes transmission problems. basically, it wants to shift into 2 gears at once, and will eventually make the transmission come apart. BUT, it has to be replaced WITH the ECU because it will just break the new transmission. I would take it to your local Toyota dealer and have them check the ECM and transmission.
