Question about Canon PowerShot SX50 HS Digital Camera - Jap/Eng

1 Answer

Why is the zooming function not working?

If I zoom in, the zoomlens goes to 1200 mm but on the screen and the photo just to 1.3m-00 and the scenery is is not close-up ...it happened suddenly. I put it off and on and when it happened. It took the photo correctly. Did I push a button wrongly? Thanks xxxx

The "1.3m - oo" is the focus range at that focal length - 1.3 meters to infinity. If the scenery is not close up on the screen, you have activated the function which shows a zoomed-out view on the screen to help you find your subject, in case you lost it when zoomed in. When you depress the button to take the picture, the lens quickly zooms back in again to the right place. Read about it in the camera manual :)

SOURCE: zoom lens won't fully retract

This is a gradual breakdown of the zoom mechanism due to ingress of dirt or having had a knock. A repair will be expensive- Fuji support will advice.

SOURCE: Digital Zoom not working and screen is blurry

Your zoom probably does not come out all the way and therefore you get some blurry shots. Had the same problem on a Panasonic camera. Solution: replace zoom motor and gears. Results=expensive. Goes beyond the value of the camera. You might want to buy another used A85 or newer digital camera.

SOURCE: Cannon G7 need help

Hi
Had the same problem a few months ago. There was a high pitchedwhisltle and I think the screen said "lens fault.turn off camera" or something similar.Bought a G9 to replace as the 7 was out of guarantee but sent the 9 back to the e-bay reseller as it was obviously secondhand with grit around the lens ring and the viewfinder.Ebay never again!.So 3 months ago ago I tried the G7 again with a fresh charged battery before I consigned the camera to the loft.I noticed that each time i switched on the whistle and message was there but the lens extended slightly further each timeso I kept rebooting until the lens was fully extended.Turned the camera off and on again and everything was back to normal. It seems that this may be Canons protocol when a camera goes back. Its been absolutely fine until today. It wont boot up at all.I have tried 2 fresh charged batteries and its dead.Any ideas anyone?

The sx10 IS, can add the lense?

Yes, that is a nice camera with all kinds of lenses available for it.

I suggest a wide lens (17mm ~ 24mm) for taking group photos and scenery photos.

Also a telephoto zoom (50mm ~ 200mm) that will work for bringing distance shots a lot closer, like binoculars.

Any camera store will have the additional lenses; even WalMart online (walmart.com)

Hope this helps!

How to zoom and take photos using nikon dx 40 slr camera with 18-55 mm lens

raju70us,
If you are new to DSLR camreras then this should work for you, you will have to rotate the ring on the lens, look through the viewfinder while trying it and you will notice the camera zooming in, the lens will be autofoucing as it is held on the subject in automatic mode. There are other settings you will like to try once you are used to the functions. That will come to you as you are developing your skills. Enjoy your new camera!

Lock up

Zoom failure suggests zoom motor stalled - no repair Un able to take photos- main circuit failure. Checxk all the ovoise things Battery state- is it goog and delivering full power. Have you set it to the Photo mode or is it stuck in some other function. Get hold the the manual and do a thorough check of all functions. There is usually a FULL manual in PDF format on the supplied CD.
